Ceres - with Spin Gravity (The Expanse)

Description
UPDATE: I am working on updating all my planet mods, but I need some help. Many of the planet mods I create make use of albedo shading. This technique, discovered by Xilthis, creates subtle shading that brings a little more depth to planets. We had to use the ore mark mechanic to do this. Since Keen has changed the way ore marks are done, it is no longer possible to do this using that mechanic; but, it is still possible to do if Keen will implement it. If we can get the votes up, maybe they will make this technique part of the approach to planet design. Please go here and vote for this feedback: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/return-the-ability-to-create-planetary-albedo-maps-using-add-file. They will not listen to feedback with only a few votes. Please help.

This is an experiment to see if spinning up Ceres is a workable option in Space Engineers.

This is a version of my Ceres planet mod which attempts to simulate "spin gravity" as seen in the book and TV series The Expanse.

This is a replacement mod, so you will not be able to use both Ceres mods at the same time.

The heightmaps are based on the actual topography.

Ceres is a dwarf planet located in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. It is rock with an ice core. It has some very curious features. First, the bright, highly reflective spots seen in Occator Crater which are believed to be either ice or sodium carbonate salts - I went with the former. Second, the tallest mountain on Ceres, Ahuna Mons - with it's bright, reflective slopes - is believed by some to be an ice volcano.

Recommended size: 19 km. Relative size would be roughly 9.5km. Unfortunately, the method for creating smaller worlds no longer works. As soon as a new means of creating worlds smaller or larger than the in-game limits becomes available, I will link to it here.

Gravity: -0.3g (perfect for Belters).

Remember, this is centrifugal... outward and not inward. On Ceres spun up, what would typically be the floor... is the ceiling. You can walk on the surface using Magboots. Spin gravity can take some getting used to and building ain't easy, but are you Inyalowda or Belter?!

Gravity extends to the highest point on the planet, Ahuna Mons, and then instantly becomes 0g.

Known Issues:

1. Character doesn't auto-correct to align with the spin gravity when jetpack is turned off, as it does in natural gravity.
2. Magboots are used when walking even when in "gravity."
3. Blocks don't auto-align with the centrifugal, spin gravity as they do with natural gravity.
4. HUD shows 0 gravity.

A very special thank you to Digi for creating the negative gravity script!

Would it be possible to have a configuration file to change the minerals, I've seen some mods with them in AppData, I'd love to use this mod only with uranium, but its files are as .bin making it impossible to use.

@emperor I'd recommend not using them together. They are essentially the same script just tweaked.

Hi entspeak, i've tried to use your ceres and your black hole mod's together. If Ceres spin-gravity script is active then the black hole script no longer deals damage to grids. Everything else seems to be working.

@Kelnontealth - If you upload posted for the server to pull from and don't make it publicly available (make it "Friends-Only" okay. If it needs to be public, then permission won't be granted. Thanks!

Hey, we would like to use this on a private server with just the Uranium removed (we keep it space only) - assuming we back link to here for the actual planet and just have it posted for the server to pull from, any issues with us doing so?

Is this safe to use in a game currently? Looks really good.

No. This is a mod, not a game save, so there are no structures.

I hope this has no atmosphere texture because I have the Black Sky of Death bug

Finally, I found some mods based off The Expanse.
