Duvy Canyon

Description
Have you ever wanted to have bridge and scaffold fights above a canyon with waterfalls. Well now you can. I recommend using your force shout or the Midas boulder spell from the Midas Magic Evolved mod here on steam to push the enemies off the bridges. There are a lot of enemies and they are pretty tough.

This dungeon is located just south of Whiterun. The marker should appear on your map automatically.

There is a floating castle at the top of the map with a ton of bad guys. To get there you need a couple of keys. You also need to go through the mountain tunnels which can be identified by the mist.

There is also now a second bandit fortress on the far side of the map that is quite a bit harder. I would recommend using strategy rather than running in. My goal with this fort was to make a really fun structure to fight on. You can jump from some of the platforms to lower ones if you get surrounded, just don't miss.

I also added in a quest to help guide you around, a couple of journals, and several chests to find.

The quest is now completed but I will still continue to work on the new area over the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or suggestions let me know, I'm fairly new at this.

COMPATIBILITY

Shouldn't be any issues, I made everything from scratch.

DLC NEEDED

None.

KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES

Text sometimes flies by too quickly to read. I tried to make the journal as helpful as possible.

Waterfall doesn't appear until you're right in front of it.

Affects the companion questline, specifically the "hired muscle" quest. I recommend saving before trying this mod out.

HI kenshin, I looked into the problem with Esmond's key and it looks like there might be an error where the corpse containing it has disappeared. I will try to fix it in but in the meantime please use the console command "tcl" to toggle collision and bypass his shop and continue upwards, and that should work just fine.

Thanks!

Hey man, thanks for trying out my mod. Jayred's burnt house is near the beginning in the first part of the town, kind of under the floating castle.

New to this mod - fabulous - but where is Jayred's burnt house?

Hi kenshin, I haven't played the mod in a while so Id have to replay it to figure out which key youre talking about. Which part of the level is it?

Hi Kazzak,

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah some things may be a little clunky.

The reason that clairvoyance doesn't work all the time in the mod is because I didn't want to have easy quest markers for everything where you just follow those to the next destination, and as a result there are a couple things you have to look for. Lond's key should be fairly easy to find, i believe it is by the lake. There should be a clue or 2 in the dialogue and quest instructions in your menu.

If you are still finding yourself stuck I can give you more specific hints.

Thanks for giving the mod a go!

And in the very end, im unable to finish your mod because nowhere in the fortress where i can go i can find Lond's key (thats why i wanted to use clairvoyance on it but it tells me i have to aktive quest)

How about giving out an walkthrough (where you aktualy play your mod on camera and show where everything is in case someone (like me) is missing something).

First mod i tryed, the cave at the beginning was a little bit irritating (no enemys at all and nothing to loot) but then i found the canyon itself. I like the floating fortress, thats an nice idea to implement, the canyon itself looks good with flowers and herbs.
An, in my eyes, large issue is that clairvoyance isn't working on the keys or other chars, its an spell that should always work (even in the main game there are quest where it isn't working and it is/was not okay).
The map is very hard to use because the fortress is hanging right on top of an part of the Village, maybe you could solve that by removing the upstairs doors in the fortress and replace them with normal doors and stairs behind them so the players have to walk up the towers but the map markers would be removed (would offer space for stuff, chests and secrets).

Thanks phat cock I'm glad you enjoyed playing through it. I'll be making more level mods in the future when I have more time on my hands, I've got a level under development currently but I'm trying not to rush it.

Cheers

Delightful mod, consider it a couple hours of extra skyrim fun, a huge new mission, an interesting storyline and a refreshing style of a mission. It almost felt like an official skyrim quest, though it lacked the depth of dialogue and characters for that. Very cool and unique idea, but tons and tons of walking to be done and the questline gets hard to follow along if you dont pay attention. Overall, with the tools of the actual devs and some more story behind it, this would have been my favourite quest of skyrim.
