Invincibility Frames

Description
This one-floor dungeon is a tutorial on how you can abuse invincibility frames and/or movement to survive otherwise lethal traps.
  • The Ring of Courage moves you forward one square on a successful kill. This has a variety of interesting effects; for example, killing any enemy guarantees that you cannot take damage on that beat in most situations. The courage boost also stacks with lunging weapons, so killing an enemy with a rapier/axe's lunge or a cat's attack will move you two squares at a time, bypassing trapdoors completely! This is taken to its logical extreme if a skeleton mage is four squares in front of you at the time of the attack, which lets you jump forward three squares at a time. If interactions with the Ring of Courage interest you, I recommend the Courage dungeon, which sadly only works with the vanilla game (unless you give yourself the Charm of Strength in the beginning). https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=562151392
  • The Shovel of Courage gives you immunity to all attacks on the beat that you dig a dirt or stone wall. All enemy attacks are rendered irrelevant on a successful dig. If there's a spike trap underneath a wall (currently only possible via the Earth Spell), the Shovel of Courage will protect you against that, too.
  • The Blast Helm is perhaps the most interesting of all of these items: it gives you two beats of invincibility following an explosion! This means you can walk on a spike trap (currently only possible with the help of a skeleton mage), stand in place on hot coals, tank a fireball, or even get mauled by a dragon on the beat that you use a bomb and the one immediately succeeding it!
  • The Cutlass lets you parry most attacks - only fireballs, bombs, hot coals, and spike traps can bypass it. With the Ogre, you can parry the same attack three times in a row, sending you forward a considerable distance. In addition, if a parry sends you in front of another enemy, you can parry a second attack, sending you flying again. Just attacking one object (even a crate!) grants you invincibility from enemy attacks from every direction.

That's about all you need to know about these items. Good luck!

Hey, I'd love some feedback on the level! Thoughts?
