It's put there on purpose to get you to buy the game. Garry probably can't just give you the textures for free cause of legal reasons.

yeah for some reason if you don't have dod:s the player models are low poly but i think there are some HD versions in the workshop

also my dod_american and dod_german are just really crappy graphics when i pick them as my playermodel is that because i dont have dod or?
