What an amazing week it was. On the 16th of march at 1:15AM I got the news that my Desert Eagle | Oxide Blaze (a.k.a. Corroden) was featured in the brand new Spectrum case. I want to thank you all who made this possible by voting on this submission and thanks to Valve for having trusted in my Desert Eagle. The initial responses I get from the community are very positive so I am more than happy to announce I will be making more Corroden skins in the near future.

Now on to this new skin, the TEC-9 Distressed. This TEC-9 began it's development at the same time the CZ-75 Distressed was made. The TEC-9 Corroden was rather dark for most people but they liked the idea of implementing wood in a weapon finish. I therefore changed up a lot of colours, made the metal way brighter and reworked the magazine in terms of metal.


The work progress was rather simple because I had most stuff already laid out from the TEC-9 Corroden. I needed to change the rusty wear to be less noticeable. I used the new bright brushed metal that I created and altered the magazine a little so it fell correctly in to place with the overall looks of the gun. I kept the white paint in place because I really liked the look it gave to the gun itself :)


The wear on this gun was something that I was not really sure about. Colour 0 in the workbench is in charge of the scratches that develop over time on the backside of the gun. The downside of making this dark (as I initially intended to) is that it also make the face outline of my smiley darker that is on the little knob :( I eventually took the middle ground which is a soft brown/orange ish colour to represent additional rust developing around it. Colour 2 is slightly blue which makes the gun turn slightly blue and darker when it wears. I chose 0.80 to be the max wear because otherwise the wear at the back would become way too stark and especially near the little heart.


I want to once again thank Valve and the community for giving me this amazing present from last week. I really really really am grateful for having another skin added to CS:GO. I am currently working on both an AK-47 Corroden and Distressed and I started planning out more guns for both these series. Besides these 2 series that I will be expanding I am working on generic patterns such as the most recent Figment. Besides generic patterns I will also be posting patterns that are more thought out and carry more meaning that just being tileable :D
