Description
Does any one of you here remember Last Of The Summer Wine, watching it on your Grandma's TV set as a little one? Well, this village of Hotherholme near Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, also not far from the bigger town of Huddersfield, is one of the places that Clegg, Compo and Foggy roamed and their spirits still roam the village and the surrounding Holme Valley. The Holme valley village of Hotherholme in Kirklees which is near, Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Meltham and set in the Pennines of West Yorkshire on the borders of the Peak District National Park, with a population of 1,800 people, and also is near to Honley, New Mills, Brockholes, Holmebridge and many more.

Features of this beautiful Pennine Village.
All Saints Church, dating from the 12th century, carved out of the parish of Almondbury, in turn carved out of the large ancient parish of Dewsbury, the ancient Parish of Hotherholme covered Honley, Meltham, Marsden, Upperthong, Netherthong and Holmebridge. The church itself dating from the 12th century is modeled off Penistone, Almondbury, Silkstone and Kirkburton Parish Churches. Inside with it's beautiful ceiling, and it's rood screen, there is a 3 manual pipe organ built originally as a 2 manual by Peter Conacher of Huddersfield in 1895, but rebuilt as a 3 manual in 2012. It can be played. Go up in the tower and ring the Church's 10 bells, and hear the sound of the old 8 bells as they would of been heard in Last of the Summer Wine. It's one of the nicest churches in Kirklees.
St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, built in 1840, after the Catholic Emancipation, funded by the Hotheroyd Family who were staunch Catholics living in the nearby Manor House. Inside is a Pipe Organ originally from the Czech Republic, hence the vicar's name being Czech, I got that idea from seeing a Catholic Church somewhere had a Polish Vicar.
The Manor House, now days it's the presbytery for the Catholic Church, but you can use it for anything. It's loosely based of East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley, and a Pub that I saw in Luddenden near Halifax. It has some rooms, and if you press the button in the main room, it will play the song, Tales Of The Holme Valley that was made by me and can be downloaded here: https://soundcloud.com/thunderbirds76-returns/tales-of-the-holme-valley
Village Hall and Library, all are in the same building, and it can be used to hire and the library is just the library! Hehehehe!
Pub, Yeah, lets go drinking, it's one of the best pubs in Kirklees!! Be careful of all the fungoers coming from Huddersfield though!!
Shops, This village has some of the best shops in Kirklees, as this is a place for the best kind of artisan shops, so feel to explore around, and have a nice shopping experience.
House, Yep, it's all yours to go in.
Park and the Toilets, well yeah, if you go into the toilets, you will get the Toilet Rules read out by Daniel the MLG Voice, so you will find that voice rather familiar!!
Random Music on the map, from the Theme Tune to Last of the Summer Wine to Antonin Dvorak's Slavonic Dances Op 46 no 2
