Description
If not the most iconic object of the entire DDR, the Trabant! This beautyful old-timer is making his debut in Besiege.
This car is painted baby blue with my Baby blue skin pack, it is highly recommended subscribing to that item too (see images for an image without skins). also uses industrial revolution gray skin for the wheels.

NOTE: cabrio mode (as seen in the images) is not a special feature.

block count 299, so basically lag free (also because most blocks have the same movement calculations). I can run it at 60 fps until 130% in the sandbox (the heaviest map ingame)

About the Trabant
The Trabant first appeared on the road during the sixties. for the common man in the DDR, this was simply the car one could get. With this trabant literally conquered the country. Although the trabant was modern at the time it was designed compared to western europe models, over the next decade it saw only minor improvements, while western european car companies kept overhauling designs and improving their cars. So at the time germany re-united, this car had become obsolete comparing to other models. many former DDR inhabitant abandoned their beloved car in favor for a more modern one, resulting in many trabants dissappearing from the road. But over the last decades, the interest in trabants is growing again as being a solid, low maintenance and friendly old-timer.

*the hood is tilted by default to avoid collision, it will close automatically by pressing [UP] (so start driving)

CHANGE NOTES:
10-04: changed the logs holding the doors by double wooden blocks as Ross suggested. hopefully no more instantly breaking doors, sorry for the inconvenience.

but i tried to to it but it keeps glitching and sticking to the front of the car

due collision reasons (as stated in the description) I cannot do such, why I cannot see a reason why I should. in addition, with AB here, it is very easy to do it yourself

can you please make it so when i spawn it the hood is closed?

That could be the issue. I just did some fast check how besiege implemented shortened logs in the .bsg files. it appears to have a <length> tag, 3 for normal log, 1 for shortened (2 blocks long) log. maybe the issue is with uploading this (just as pistons did not store there toggle option when uploading in the past)

I think I know what the problem might be in this case. When I downloaded it the first time, the log was the full length slightly over 3 block lengths, which meant that it clipped into the door hinge by an entire block length.

When I downloaded the corrected version, I forced the log back into its original position, and the game automatically shortened it to two block lengths. (The long wood block and wood pole do the same thing if there's not enough room to place them.)

So I think what's happening, is that in your version, the game corrects the logs to two block lengths, whereas when it's downloaded from the workshop, the logs stay full length and clip the door hinges. At least, that's my guess.

@Able and Ross, I really need to check my besiege. just as with the st. Chamond I do not run into these log-related issues. with that I will update the machine as Ross suggested. thanks for the feedback!

I fixed the problem of the doors falling off simply by replacing the logs that hold the doors with long wooden blocks. After that, it was really nice! I like that you didn't make it super fast, so it just drives like a normal, smooth car. Great work! :steamhappy:
