How To Get Extra Ammo Capacity Without Having The Skill For It
By SkyL3R
In this guide I will explain to you the trick (or a bug, I don't know, whatever you wanna call it) which allows you to have increased ammo capacity skill effect and the skill on the opposite side at the same time.
A lot of veteran KF2 players already know this, so I am just here to explain it for the new players.

These perks are able to perform the trick:
-Commando ("Prepared" +20% ammo capacity for perk weapons)
-Support ("Resupply Pack" +20% ammo capacity for perk weapons)
-Demolitionist ("Extra Rounds" +5 ammo for perk weapons)
-Sharpshooter ("Always Prepared" +25% ammo capacity for perk weapons and grenades)
-Survivalist ("Ammo Vest" +15% ammo capacity for all weapons)
-SWAT ("Ammo Vest" +30% ammo capacity for perk weapons)

You will find the general concept of the trick first.
Then you may move down below to find examples of this trick for different perks. (with screenshots)

The General Concept
  • 1.After the wave has been finished, get to the trader pod.
  • 2.Press ESC, go to your perk settings, click "Configure Skills".
  • 3.Choose the skill (varies for different perks) which gives you the ability to have increased ammo capacity for your perk weapons. Exit the menu.
  • 4.Use trader and buy ammo for your perk weapons to the maximum. Exit the trader.
  • 5.Drop all of your perk weapons on the ground and don't touch them. (Be careful if you are playing with randoms, they might steal your weapons).
  • 6.Press ESC again, go to your perk settings, click "Configure Skills".
  • 7.Choose the skill on the opposite side of the one that gave you increased ammo capacity. Exit the menu.
  • 8.Collect your weapons from the ground.
  • 9.That's it. You have changed the skill, but you still have increased ammo capacity on your perk weapons. Now you are more than ready for the next wave.

*WARNING: When you've picked up your weapons - DO NOT press ESC anymore until the trader time is finished or it will cancel the effect!*
*WARNING: Picking up an ammo box after doing this trick will always reset your ammo capacity back to default.*

This is a general scheme to do the trick.
If you are still not sure how to do it, scroll down below.
I will cover it for different perks and with screenshots.
Commando
-Get to the trader, open the menu and get a skill "Prepared" which allows you to carry up to 20% more ammo for each perk weapon:

-Use the trader and fill up your perk weapons with ammo:

-Exit the trader and drop your perk weapons on the ground:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Prepared" to "Tenacious", which gives you 25% more Armor and Health:

-Close the menu and pick up your weapons:

-Now you have both effects from skills "Prepared" and "Tenacious" at the same time.
As you can see The Stoner on the screenshot has 675 out of 575 ammo available.
Now just buy your extra 25 armor, then heal up your extra 25 health and you are good to go!
Support
-Get to the trader, open the menu and get a skill "Resupply Pack" which allows you to carry up to 20% more ammo for each perk weapon:

-Use the trader and fill up your perk weapons with ammo:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Resupply Pack" to "Concussion Rounds", which increases stumble power of your perk weapons by 150%:

-Close the menu and pick up your weapons:

-Now you have both increased ammo capacity from the skill "Resupply Pack" and increased stumble power of perk weapons from the skill "Concussion Rounds" at the same time.
As you can see The DBS on the screenshot has 69 out of 60 ammo available.
AA12 has 194 out of 170.
You are now ready for the next wave!

-Use the trader and fill up your perk weapons with ammo:

-Exit the trader and drop your perk weapons on the ground:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Extra Rounds" to "High Impact Rounds", which increases direct hit damage with explosive weapons by 20%:

-Exit the trader and drop your perk weapons on the ground:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Always Prepared" to "Dead Eye", which reduces recoil by 10% and increases headshot damage by 10% when using iron sights with a perk weapon:

-Close the menu and pick up your weapons:

-Now you have both effects from skills "Always Prepared" and "Dead Eye" at the same time.
As you can see The Railgun on the screenshot has 26 out of 21 ammo available.
You also have 6 grenades instead of 5.
Survivalist
-Get to the trader, open the menu and get a skill "Ammo Vest" which allows you to carry up to 15% more ammo for all weapons:

-Use the trader and fill up your weapons with ammo:

-Exit the trader and drop your weapons on the ground:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Ammo Vest" to "Weapon Harness", which increases your carrying capacity by 5 and your grenade becomes a Molotov cocktail:

-Close the menu and pick up your weapons:

-Now you have both increased ammo capacity from the skill "Ammo Vest" and increased carrying capacity from the skill "Weapon Harness" at the same time.
As you can see The DBS on the screenshot has 55 out of 48 ammo available.
RPG has 18 out of 16.
Of course, you also have that extra carrying capacity which you might as well fill up if you have enough money!
SWAT
-Get to the trader, open the menu and get a skill "Ammo Vest" which allows you to carry up to 30% more ammo for each perk weapon:

-Use the trader and fill up your perk weapons with ammo:

-Exit the trader and drop your perk weapons on the ground:

-Open the menu and switch from the skill "Ammo Vest" to "Suppression Rounds", which increases stumble power of your perk weapons by 100%:

-Close the menu and pick up your weapons:

-Now you have both effects from skills "Ammo Vest" and "Suppression Rounds" at the same time.
As you can see The MP7 on the screenshot has 488 out of 389 ammo available.
P90 has 553 out of 448.

With the aa12 just pick the perk via esc, reload, and change back, sure, you can't reload to 30 with out repeting process, but it's great for dealing %50 more damage to the boss as soon as it spawns.

To add to9 that you can 2 shot sirens no issues with the 9mm. The 9mm on trash like clots & crawlers is handy upto wave 4 till the scarkes come out ,your perk passives add bonus to your 9mm damage some perks has better damage bonus's to. My best advise when skill with support lvl20 when playing online always use the resuply perk as gives free ammo to other players the higher the lvl more armor & added ammo. With Demo they always give a free grenade to other players. They are great perks in a team needed as helps with ammo conservation as the higher the difficulty lack of supply crates & dosh made so your goal is to supply when dosh is hard to get suicidal & HOE i remomend any newbies who play as support perks even medic dont play suicidal till minimum lvl 15+ & HOE lvl20 as your skills are more valuble in those difficulties.

Thank you, @plumboby. Yes, it's quite important to save your money whenever possible. Clots are not too hard to melee them (knife or weapon butt to the head), so it's recommendable to do that, especially on the beginning waves. Also make use of your 9mm (for crawlers, bloat's head and husk's fuel tank, for example). It will help you to conserve the ammo on the main gun hence saving your money as well.

I've tested it and it's true. Picking up an ammo box will reset your ammo capacity to default. I will add it to the guide. Thank you for pointing that out.

@Mr.Brwnstone You are correct

I feel like picking up an ammo box has the chance of resetting your weapon's ammo capacity to default. I might be wrong tho.
