Dovahkiin Mountain Retreat 4.0

Description
You have inherited Dovahkiin Mountain Retreat; overlooking the major city of Riften.

This is a unique custom house containing all the amenities a Dragonborn could ask for. Compact, 3-level design makes everything easily accessible.

The house comes complete with 2 Dovahkiin Guards (followers) - Nina, a Nord specializing in one-handed sword and archery and Jorgen, a Redguard Spellsword.

Smithing (forge, anvil, sharpening wheel, armor workbench) , Enchanting and Alchemy equipment are included.

In addition, there is a large armory with Mannequins, shield and weapon racks, a separate library, a room for the Guards, greenhouse herb garden, stables and horses, and of course ample storage throughout.

This mod is not for you If you want a huge monstrous house that you would never actually live in with everything possible thrown in for no other reason than to fill up space. Likewise, this mod is not for you if you want a smaller house with unrealistically large interior that doesn't match the exterior dimensions. This is a custom house with a custom 3D model. It isn't simply a collection of bits and pieces from existing Skyrim models.

Major features:

• Full Smithing equipment located on upstairs patio and also at rear of the house
• Ore Mines next to house: Gold, Malachite, Moonstone, Quicksilver
• Mannequins for placing armor: 20 in the armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
• Shield racks: 11 in the armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
• Weapon racks: 18 in armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
• Alchemy and Enchanting labs
• Large Weapon cases: 3
• Dagger cases: 5
• Bookshelves: 6 large and 1 small
• Large armory in basement
• Plenty of storage throughout
• Dovahkiin Guard Followers Nina (one-handed and archery) and Jorgen (SpellSword)
• Guard room
• Bedroom
• Kitchen
• Civil War map
• Separate Library downstairs
• Light armor (Elven) modified Nightingale design. Note: helmet is best with short hair
• Heavy armor (Dwarven) version of the Light armor
• Custom shields (heavy and light versions) including "spell ward" version
• Custom sword, dagger and bow
• Custom framed painting on the walls
• Special re-usable soul gems (5)
• Book The Gift of Thu'um (provides 3 Dragon Shouts - Become Ethereal, Disarm, Kynes Peace)
• Custom greenhouse model and herb garden
• Horse stables
• Horses Palofmine and Paint *
• Shrine of Arkay

* Horses: Palofmine and Paint are “special”. When dismounted near the house/stables (within approx 200 ft) these horses will return to their stable. When stabled, they will no longer fast-travel with player (no other horses act this way). Both horses have more health and stamina than regular horses (similar to Frost), but less than Shadowmere.

Notes:

You can replace the wall paintings with your own images If you know how to edit .dds files which reside in directory: skyrim\Data\textures\architecture\osr

Installation is automatic. You will receive a Quest message and marker instructing you to visit the mountain home you have inherited.

This house does not support marriage partner habitation, but It does support companion/follower habitation.

Fully compatible with my other Workshop mods:

- Dragon Weapon and Shield Set (not needed with this mod because already included)
- Bound Dragonslayer Weapons
- Aegis Shield Ward
- Advanced Detect Life
- Airstream Levitation
- Smeltdown convert items to ingots

Dawnguard specific version (for vampires) is here:

When stabled, they will no longer fast-travel with player (no other horses act this way). Both horses have more health and stamina than regular horses (similar to Frost), but less than Shadowmere.

October 2, 2012 - version 3.0

- Added marker stone by path in valley leading up to the retreat

- Various other minor adjustments (can't remember specifics)

Note: This update may (or may not) cause save-game issues because of movement of interior items and changes to Jorgen and Nina. If you have problems, or if some changes don't take affect, you may need to disable the mod, play and save, then enable the mod and run the save. This will basically re-install the mod from scratch.

Be aware, if you "reset" the mod as described (disable/enable), you will first need to remove everything you have from inside the house and dump it outside somewhere. Then, once re-enabled, you can safely place everything back inside. Only do this procedure if you need to for some reason (changes not taking effect for example).

August 31, 2012 - version 2.1

Thanks!

Great little home up so high. But,it covers atop the 'Last Vigil'.
Which at level 80 you go there to fight the 'Ebony Warrior'.
And I believe that the stable is sitting on that spot.
I don't know if that will interfere with that or not but, I will wait till I pass level 80 to use your mod.
Thank you for a simple home mod!

In all my games, I tend to make this my primary house, I my secondary tends to be the Skaal Stronghold mod player house, as well as the Wind Strider mini-house....

Just perfect! Simple enough, cozy house and nice items. My favorite mod so far.

I think items (so far a dagger and a shield) are permanently stuck on their displays. A dagger is stuck in a case and a shield on a shield display. Hovering over them only says "activate dagger display" (for instance). No where does it let me pick the item back up. Is this intentional? Or is it something I can fix?

Yes, this is the non-DLC version. The other one has quite a few extras, but it requires all the official DLC's. Thanks
