So please speciffy what errors u get, so I can try to fix it. Thanks in advance :)
Two options: Go to Library - Tools - SteamVR - Right click - Properties - Betas Tab - Select down arrow under which beta you would like to opt into - Select steamVR betas update. Should do it, if not there is a way to launch it inside of steamVR under VRsettings I believe.
SteamVR Home? Where do I find that? I thought it was the same as SteamVR. But I guess not from what u are telling.

Note for the dev: in steamvr home(beta) the tranparancy is taken out :( but not in home it is amazing - Love it :)
Might do controllers. I'm not sure. I guess it would be easy to do a re-texture of the original ones.
On a side-note: The hardest part of making this was to order all the faces manually. Steam VR do not care that the faces are semi-transparent. And if the faces are drawn in the wrong order, they simply disapper if behind another simi-transparent face.
