But still, again...resolution, lol. It could be done better, and more accurately, if a greater resolution was available.

Oh...well, that changes the answer as well. I usually try to replicate the wood patterns found on wooden parts in weapons like this, trying to simulate the veins and scratches that are commonly present in wood pieces with the help of gradients.

Now that I look at my comment, I must not have been specific enough

What I SHOULD have said is how do you do your wood patterns? Do you use images of the weapon you're making to make the wood patterns?

LOL, thank you, I guess.

I usually do the gradients with the help of an hex selection tool. Some of these tools may even build gradients from one RGB hex to another, but the game also supports hexadecimal values as well as RGB sliders, so it is pretty easy to do that with the editors the game ships with.

It still looks like it had four hundred thousand times more effort put into it than the worldmodel of CS:GO's M4A4.

Hey, how do you do your shading anyway?

If the resolution available to work with was greater, and the available vertical space was bigger, I would definitely not do it like I did, lol.

Well...I'm not sure if get what you mean, but I've done the carry handle like that because it would look too small if one or two pixels smaller, and too big if one or two pixels bigger. In fact, the receiver is not even at the right place, it should be right on top of the magazine, lol.

The vertical space to edit the unscoped rifle is pretty limited, specially when compared to the AK47 skeleton, which has greater vertical space and lets you build almost all sorts of magazines.

The carry handle reaches all the way to the front of the receiver.
Maybe the restrictions limiting the height made it look too big to you?

I actually tried to do that, by extending it one pixel to the front, but I felt it looked too big. Like I said: resolution doesn't help with details.

Is it impossible to make the carry handle reach the end of the receiver?
