What I SHOULD have said is how do you do your wood patterns? Do you use images of the weapon you're making to make the wood patterns?
I usually do the gradients with the help of an hex selection tool. Some of these tools may even build gradients from one RGB hex to another, but the game also supports hexadecimal values as well as RGB sliders, so it is pretty easy to do that with the editors the game ships with.
Hey, how do you do your shading anyway?
The vertical space to edit the unscoped rifle is pretty limited, specially when compared to the AK47 skeleton, which has greater vertical space and lets you build almost all sorts of magazines.
Maybe the restrictions limiting the height made it look too big to you?
