Katrine, the Black Cat

Katrine is the guardian of Zoo City. She was created by a evil scientist that wanted to create a army of mutants to conquer the world. She was the last mutant created, and was meant to be the general. She was created from his own black cat and named after his dead wife.
But after her creation, he lead the mutants against their creator. After defeating the scientist, Katrine freed the mutants to the city. Sadly most of the mutants didn't fit into society, abusing their powers and turning to crime. Now Katrine has to defend the humans and help the mutants to understand the world where they live in. Besides being supposed to be the leader of the army, she isn't the strongest, but she was the most human of them.

In Katrine's world black cats are a symbol of bad luck, just like in ours, so he has advantage against superstitious criminals, but also hampers her relationships with humans. When she is not fighting crime she is trying to keep her relation with humanity, working shop keeper, participating in human behaviors and avoiding to follow her animal instincts.
