Description
I am no longer maintaining my Stellaris mods and, as a result, they are probably incompatible with the latest release. If you want to use my mods as the basis for your own, you are very welcome to do so.

This mod allows you to buy influence from the Artisan Enclave, by running propaganda campaigns.
  • Each propaganda campaign is an empire-level modifier that gives you influence in exchange for a constant drain on resources.

  • Campaigns last for 10 years, after which time you will be prompted to renew.

  • Campaigns can be cancelled at any time.

  • The cost of each campaign is scaled to your empire size (capping-out at 240 pops).

  • Ongoing campaigns increase the trust between your empire and the Artisan Enclave.

Available Campaigns:

Because of the variable nature of the costs, it's significantly easier to read these from the in-game dialog. However, for reference, here's a full list of the campaigns and their cost structure. (The key is at the bottom of this section.)

Campaigns:
  • Unsolicited Mail: +0.5I, +1T, -10E
  • Viral Memes: +1I, +1T, -30E

  • Billboards: +1I, +1T, -20E, -40M
  • Aggressive Marketing: +1.5I, +2T, -40E, -80M
  • Saturation Advertising: +2I, +2T, -60E, -120M

  • Bread and Circuses: +1I, +1T, -40M, -20F
  • Touring Games: +1.5I, +2T, -80M, -40F
  • Galactic Olympics: +2I, +2T, -120M, -60F

  • Cultural Masterclasses: +2I, +2T, -40E, -80M, -20C
  • Galactic Art Gallery: +3I, +3T, -80E, -160M, -40C
  • The Great Exhibition: +4I, +4T, -120E, -240M, -60C

Scaling:
  • <= 60 pops: as above
  • 61-120 pops: +100% E, M, F & C
  • 121-180 pops: +200% E, M, F & C
  • 181-240 pops: +300% E, M, F & C
  • > 240 pops: +400% E, M, F & C

Key:
  • I = influence/month
  • T = trust between your empire and the artisan enclave per year
  • E = energy/month
  • M = minerals/month
  • F = food/month
  • C = consumer goods/month

Minor features:
  • Backwards compatibility
    • If you continue a game where you were using the old version of this mod, everything will be upgraded smoothly the next time you talk to the artists about propaganda campaigns.
    • If you don't want to lose your old and extremely-underpriced propaganda campaign, you have two choices: (1) don't talk to the artists about propaganda campaigns; (2) use the old version of this mod.

Upcoming features:
  • Flavour events for each type of campaign. (Ideally, multiple possible events per campaign - both good and bad.)

Known Bugs:
  • The screenshots are out of date.

Technical info / compatibility:
  • Edited the leviathans.300 event (the "front screen" of the Artisan Enclave), to act as a gateway into this mod.
  • Edited the leviathans.330 event, so that propaganda campaigns are removed if you annoy the Artisans. (Not tested.)
  • Edited the leviathans.333 event, so that propaganda campaigns are removed if all of the Artisan Enclaves are destroyed. (Not tested.)
  • No other vanilla files are edited, so this mod should be compatible with anything that doesn't alter the Artisan Enclave.

Earlier versions / Beta versions:
  • All of my mods are available on Github[github.com] (eg. in case you want to revert to an earlier version)

Yeah, sorry, I guess Paradox finally changed something which broke the mod. I haven't played Stellaris in years, so I can't easily test and update it :-/ If anyone wants to take my code and make their own version, they are very welcome to do so.

I think it makes sense that Gestalt Empires can't make use of the optoins in this mod. At the very least, it makes no sense for non-Rogue Servitors.

Very nice mod. Influence is a major hindrance in the late game but this mod can help elevate it without being at a game-breaking level.

A suggestion, though, could you add an option to use something else, like alloys, in place of consumer goods since gestalt consciousnesses cannot produce them at all? I edited the mod in my game but I don't know enough to make it customizable.

@Peter34: Thanks for confirming that everything seems fine. I've started up a new game with federations, and haven't noticed any issues - but, also, I've only just encountered the artists. However, this is a mod that requires playtesting, so I will happily welcome any feedback.

Okay, sorry about the delay. My couch was very comfortable...

I'm posting to confirm that Artisan Enslace Influence costs currently seem to be subject to a x5 multiplier, so that indicates fairly strongly that cost scaling is working.

I thought I was only on x4 cost scaling, but I do currently have 270 POPs, so I've gone above the threshold for x5 recently.
