Shrike (no mod)

Description
I came across this ship when trolling through an old cargo ship mod which had collected a number of designs and would augment/replace the cargo ships with them. The author had developed the design since the version I was working with, his work is at:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=302254095

The design was striking from the get-go. I'm not much into this type of torpedo craft, I didn't actually construct an automated torpedo launcher, but the design of the ship was quite attractive. Now the weapons systems still show their age, in that it still uses lots of interior turrets as ship defense and tries to feed them with conveyors... Oh well, I did implement the nuclear option on the conveyors and re-built the entire network. I also used the space that freed up to ad jumpies and I even excavated some volume between the tubes for refineries... So the ship is fully good to go.

Now in studying the author's changes against what I had produced, in preparation for finally posting this, I was left with some dilemmas. I decided not to add the mods the author was using because ships without mods are simply more useful than modded ships and this one didn't really loose much by removing the mods. My changes shouldn't interfere with applying the author's mods to the interior, at least 90%...

On this one, the tubes are very bare, could almost be used as hangars in a pinch... (I removed the doors due to self-dammage)

The author's version converted the outboard tubes into missile launchers, and he narrowed the inboard tubes to add acceleration gravity. I played around with making a compartment at the aft end of the tube to put all the acceleration gravity, this would preserve the original diameter of the tube. I had a second version where I had compressed the outboard tube, and lowered it by a block, and saved 200 tons but the wing came out too smooth, where the appeal of this ship is all the texturing in the wings. True, I did a re-contouring pass but I did my best to preserve the intentional detailing.

So instead of agonizing over this for another week, I'm just going to dump it on you as it is. You can use the delta between this and the author's ideas as a guide or do whatever. It's a great ship even if it can't roll to save it's life and can only yaw with great difficulty. =P

It also had some serious power deficit problems, so I had to smuggle reactors and batteries into odd niches in the wing conveyor networks.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who loves the Shrike enough to retrofit it for modern times. I changed out the conveyor juntions for tubes to help with server performance, got rid of the gravity gun and added low profile automated missle laucher turrets, some self guiding missiles under the wings and turned the whole thing into a grav drive ship, while removing a ton of thrusters even with the added blocks I saved almost 1000kg in weight. Now it flies like a fighter jet and is 10x as deadly. Great job on your rework though looks good.
