T.N.F. Recon Drone 'Intruder' Mk.I

Description
Investigating or clearing an enemy ship or structure can be a highly dangerous task. Every room might have an automated turret or armed defenders with their rifles aimed at your point of entry. To lower the risk to their own Strike Infantry teams, the Fleet is now adding several Intruder drones to warships currently under construction.

Designed to fit in the standard 2,5m x 2,5m hallways and walking tubes common in most ships and stations, the Intruder drone can accompany Strike Infantry teams as they board and clear enemy structures in space. The strike teams make a breach large enough, and send in the Intruder to clear the adjacent room. Its main purpose is to destroy enemy infantry and automated interior turrets with minimal risk to the strike teams, and it is therefore fitted with a 25mm gatling gun and a 4-tubed 200mm missile launcher.

The drawback of its minimalistic design is the lack of a laser antenna, making its regular antenna emissions visible to the enemy. It is also at over 3 meters in length, requiring careful turning in tight spaces. Some entrances may have doors or walkways which are too narrow for the Intruder to enter, the Fleet manual suggest blowing these obstructions away with a rocket or two if a boarding team isn’t available to grind them down.

General characteristics:
-Crew: 1x Drone Pilot
-Length: 3,5 m
-Width: 1,5 m
-Height: 1,5 m

Armament:
-1x Gatling Gun
-1x Rocket Launcher

Features:
-Display showing the drone’s ammunition status using MMaster’s Automatic LCDs 2 script.
-Landing gear so that the drone can be attached to friendly ships (add a small rotor head at the back if you want to secure it with a rotor).
-Ore detector, making the drone useful for finding ore in asteroids.
-T.N.F. markings, using the Fleet’s logo converted to monospace by Whiplash141.
-Survival ready!

Known issues:
-None at the moment.

Acknowledgements:
-MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2 script.
-Whiplash141's great kindness in converting the T.N.F. logo into LCD-viewable monospace.

Looks cool, also you might want to make a boarding ship to store the drones or something, maybe like a astiroid base that launches them? Use your imagination.

Love the design! i built something simular to this back when the hoverbike mod was still active. you might want to add an ejector with some explosives in it for breaching. cheers!

@MarkMyWords: Great feedback! Yes, it is a classic result of me wanting to have "everything" on my builds, and your version sounds much more maneuverable.

Looks great! I made my own PVP ready version without the LCDs, armor, back camera, light and ore detector. I managed to get it down to 2.5m long, 1m wide and 1.5m high. I think that instead of securing it to ships on the drone's side, any boarding ship should have a drone bay, so I removed the landing gear too. I tested your drone out on a little fake boarding course I made, and it performed great other than the poor maneuverability due to size.

I'm glad the drone works for you, I honestly wasn't expecting this response!

@RustRaven: I want to make an atmospheric version as well, though it must be either bigger or have less stuff in it, as you say.

Very nice design. Inspired me to build my own version

Really nice design. It looks cool while being surprisingly compact and functional. I'd love an atmospheric version, but space is an issue with the thrusters being 3 blocks long.

Feels like my Flea, but heavyly armed and the screen is a nice touch. Damn!
