Better Liopleurodon

Description
Mod ID # 937637069

This is the standalone version of my Better Liopleurodon from my Better Dinos mod. If you already subscribe to Better Dinos you do not need this mod as well.

What's so great about this Liopleurodon then Kraken?

My Liop will spawn in the deep water as an addition to the Dark Water Angler, Deepwater, and Ocean spawn containers (Ocean and Deepwater are used on The Island, The Center and PGM's, and would probably be used for most custom maps), at about the same numbers as Dunkies. It does not replace the original sparkly Liopleurodon, at least at this point in time.

The Better Liop is a permanent KO tame that prefers Allosaurus Kibble as its preferred taming food.

It can be ridden with or without a saddle.

The Better Liop can reverse, making it the only aquatic creature to be able to do so and making it very maneuverable.

The Liop saddle is learnable at Level 53 and can be crafted in the Smithy. This is a two seater saddle.

Rider and Passenger will both receive the Liop Oil Buff, which greatly reduces oxygen consumption, as per the dossier. It also gives clearer vision underwater (Scuba Mask buff without the mask overlay) and increases swim speed. This buff will linger for a little while after you dismount the Liop as well.

The Liop has the following attacks -

Left Click - Bite attack, 40 base damage

Right Click - 'Devestating Chomp Attack' When activated the Liop will shoot forward and chomp its prey for a base 90 damage. It will also keep hold of it for a random amount of time between 5-30 seconds and will continue to chomp on it with its bite attack when wild, and you can continue to use left click to attack when tamed. It can carry players and dinos up to 200 drag weight. This mod also alters the drag weight of Anglers and Eels down from 250 to 190 to allow the Liop to grab them (this is done dynamically through casts and not by remapping or replacing anglers or eels)

C - Is the Liops carry attack. This allows you to easily carry dinos without having to do the chomp. The Liop however is not very gentle, and it will do a small amount of damage even to tamed dinos (5 base)

Craftable 'Felix Felicitas' Luck Potion - This is craftable in the Liops Inventory at a cost of 20 Squid Ink, 5 Black Pearls, 25 Honey, and 10 Leech Blood. It takes 30 minutes to craft. When consumed will give you the standard Liopleurodon Magical Buff. Yes this is expensive. Yes it does take a long time to craft. But being craftable and consumable whenever you like to buff any loot crate you like sort of makes it worth it imo.

For taming and breeding times, amounts etc, uses the same as the Plesi (preferred kibble is Allo rather than Rex though) Note also that the Liop has lower torpor than Plesis

Great, thank you!

I've been doing a lot of reorganisation of the main BD mod in prep for making the standalones actually sustainable, as it stands updating this one to bring it up to scratch would just be far too much work, the new one will be much better and able to be kept up to scratch. The good news is that the class name will still be Liop_Character_BP_C, so it should be an easy transition. I will be releasing the new one before I do delete this one.

Sorry to hear it. I love this mod. But thank you for making a new standalone!

Just as a heads up gang, this mod will be getting deleted from the workshop on the 14th August. It's woefully out of date compared to the current Liop in Better Dinos and will get even more so soon since I'll be adding even more new abilities, and updating this version of the mod will be damn near impossible without breaking it completely anyway. Since there's only a few hundred subscribers I don't think it's a biggy. I will however be launching a new Liopleurodon standalone that will be easier to maintain and keep updated alongside the main KBD mod so keep your eyes out for that coming soon.

Anyone using this mod that can confirm it works?
KonaManta 22 Mar, 2020 @ 5:56pm
The saddle doesn't seem to be craftable. I've heard that mod items won't show up in the smithy, so other modders just let all saddles be crafted in inventory.

The saddle does not show up in either the vanilla, S+ smithy or my inventory... where is it? Thx

Thank you! This is great. I tried out the "permanent liopleurodon mod" and spawns were wayyyy too high. This is just what I am looking for.

The only thing I'd recommend, is to add some pictures of the mod. Generic mods pictures like the one for this can turn people off, I think you'd get a lot more people using it if there were pictures actually showing it off.
