GeminiEconomicExpansion

Description
Gemini Economic Expansion (GEX)

Thank you for participating in the Gemini Economic Expansion regent. The GEX endeavors to provide more economic expansion opportunities in the Gemini system. This mod changes structures to be more upgradable, to have more structures be upgradable, and have a stronger economy over the base game. This works by making (so far) relay satellites, repair stations, and the landmarks that give 400 of a resource to be upgradable.

I did this to provide more resource sinks as well as a better sense of progression. Also areas that do not have mines will at least have a relay which will give at least some resources. This mod also is to provide more resources to the player and AI (I hope the AI build new structures but I have my doubts) to provide to those who like large fleets.

I also did not like how the landmarks automatically give you 400 of a resource each week when they are supposed to abandoned structures forgotten on the edges of the system. Thus the starting level only gives you 200 of a resource. Now you can spend a ridiculous amounts of resources to rebuild them provide you a ton of resources. This is more a late/end game thing and to show off the forgotten power of the old Earth Empire.

Relays are also something that wasn't used but now they have a purpose! To scan the sector they are in and give you a small smattering of resources pulled from wrecks and asteroids.. This is just a simple 3:2:1 ratio of ore to gas to materials. Also now no sector will give you zero resources giving you extra incentive to grab and keep areas that have no mines.

NOTE: due to UI limitations at this time though all changed structures have 5 levels the last two are not seen. I hope to figure out how to change this. Also the Relay changes have a 3:2:1 ratio of all resources but the way the UI works only the first non-zero resource is shown, ore. The structure provides all three and is shown in each resource breakdown.

Goals:
To provide more structures to be resource sinks.
To provide more resources to be used in fleets.
To provide a better sense of progression.
To make relays give you a small amount of each resource.
Make Landmarks Great Again.
To make repair stations give you a tiny amount of materials from scrap from repairs.
To eventually figure out how to give mines, extractors, and reclaimers have 5 levels that do not increase in price so fast.

When will all this be?

As far as I can tell this mod still works as of now, tho I don't have any of the DLC so i can't say there are no conflicts there.

I would like to thank the mod author for making this, it is making the game more interesting.

No cause the AI is set up through something completely different. Which I will change in another mod once I feel a bit better.

Do the AI take advantage of this economic boost? Like building more ships, more structures, etc...

I wish! but alas I can't even put a credit cost to upgrades sadly. Which would make more sense. Add in the UI issues, the fact that Mine upgrades are tied to research, which I haven't cracked even adding a simple research, and the shallowness of the economy means I really can't do too much.
