RPG Maker MV Kids

Description
This workshop item provides configuration files to allow the import of RPG Maker MV Kid generator parts into GCH.
Note that this workshop item does not contain RPG Maker MV Kid parts! It only contains all the necessary files to make the import easily. The import must be done by you, based on your RPG Maker MV installation and on the configuration files provided by this workshop item. It requires RPG Maker MV Kid DLC to work.

Here is a step-by-step guide with instructions on how to import Kid parts with the configuration files:
1. Make sure RPG Maker MV and all its DLCs are updated.
2. Install the workshop item. Unpack the zip file in a folder of choice. Remember this folder.
3. Copy the contents of the "Generator" folder from RPG Maker MV installation folder to the previous one where you unzipped the configuration files.
The exact location of the Generator folder depends on the your system and how Steam is installed.
On windows system, it is typically: "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/RPG Maker MV/Generator"
On linux/SteamOS system: "~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/RPG Maker MV/Generator"
4. At this step, your folder should contain:
- All the configuration files required to the import (with file suffix ".json")
- 5 folders; A "Custom" folder that came from the zip file. 4 folders that come from MV generator parts: "TV", "TVD", "SV", and "Face".
5. Launch GCH. Go to "File > Import custom resources".
6. In the window that appears, click on browse and select the Generator folder where the zip file was decompressed.
7. GCH will parse all the configuration files. When it's done, click on OK.
8. Then click on "Export pack" button at the bottom right window. A new window appears:
9. In the "Pack to install" field: click on browse, and select "mv.kids".
10 In the "Save pack to" field: select the itempacks folder from GCH installation directory (e.g. located to "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Game Character Hub Portfolio Edition/itempacks"), and name the file "RPG Maker MV Kids.gchpack"
11. Click on "Export" and wait.
12. Restart GCH and you will be asked to install the new pack.

Does it work if you got RPG Maker MV from the actual website and not steam?

Defekt.

Managed to get it to work. The problem isn't the "empty area of effect" but this:
1) Wrongly referenced file paths in the .json files.

The red error messages will tell you which .json file you have to fix. You can fix the .json files using a text editor.

It will be easiest to fix this by first moving all the contents in the "Custom" folder ("TV", "TVD", "SV", and "Face") out into the main "MVKidsOnly" folder, then run the 'Export Pack' again and check which errors you have to fix. This is because most entries in the .json file does not reference the "Custom" folder in the first place.

2) Missing images that seems to be missing even in the original Kid Generator Parts DLC.

Fix this by replacing the missing files with the adult parts.

iirc "TVD_Ears_p02.png" in "TVD/Kid/" was missing so I replaced it with the corresponding adult female part.

Feel free to drop me a message if this isn't clear. :DrakElf_expression2:

There's only one way, and that's just to organize all the files into folders, and then place them into a Kid folder and then put that in your Items folder. It works, just that you'll have to rename each one by hand if you want it that badly. What I wanna do is just 7z the folder I have and upload it for you guys.

Is there a way to do this without getting an Ecport Failed message? I've tried everything I can think of and the MV Kids pack just won't work.

Failed. Empty Area of effect?

Is anyone here giving a raw damn to assist in this?

Or, are we all on our own here...

I found the zip in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content" inside on one folder, but durant the export I get the error "Export Failed". How to make this working?

Here is the error I am getting:

I absolutely cannot get this to work. Looking at the other comments, and the fact that this is so crudely done that the zip file this workshop item downloads is stored to the most obscure location without any mention of the location in the instructions, I have to wonder if this has been successfully installed by anybody.

Not meaning to double post, but I am getting "Export Failed" as well, so either I'm missing a step somewhere or something.

3. Copy the contents of the "Generator" folder from RPG Maker MV installation folder to the previous one where you unzipped the configuration files.

Here is where I get mildly confused.
I can not tell if I need to put the Generator file and the MVKidsOnly file withing the same file.
Or the Generator file within the the MVKidsOnly file.
OR copt the contents within the Generator file and paste them within theMVKidsOnly.

It may seem like baby steps here, but a little clarification might help, I don't know if that's what's causing things to fail. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong, who knows.

Found the zip file in ...Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content dunno if there's an easier way, but within the Content file is several numbered files, it will be inside one of those. I found it by looking in the most recently modified (maybe unsubscribe and then resubscribe might bring it to the top if you have tons of others). Don't know if there's an easier way to get to it, but that's how I found it.
