>>>>>>READ THE DESCRIPTION PLEASE<<<<<<

A game-breakingly gargantuan Shipyard vessel based on the style of the ships from the classic PC game HomeWorld 2. Built to roughly half scale based on available data.

Specification:

Length: 1260m (504 blocks)
Mass: 345,436,320kg
Blocks: 493,164

Features:

Gyros: 7,714
Cryo pods: 3
Gatling turrets: 15
Refineries: 2
Assemblers: 3
Arc Furnaces: 3
Batteries: 456
Jump Drives: 42
Connectors: 11
Control Stations: 4

Fully conveyored up and technically Survial ready, 100% Vanilla.

Warning:

This ship is game breaking- it is simply too complex/detailed/large for the Havok Physics Engine to cope with ( go figure since the current version in use was released in 2011- nice job Keen, use a dead piece of software to build your game around ), hence the recent updates to the game providing in-game warnings of ships / structures that have too many physics shapes. The result; you will glitch through walls, you will have trouble trying to place or delete blocks. The ship is fully functional but any collisions may cause ships to simply glitch through eachother and end up embedded.

I had grand plans for detailing the interior with multiple decks and well layed out areas for Production, Crew Quarters, Control room, Med bay etc etc, but alas, what I've had to do is create a shell with a smoothed-out interior, and some token Production Facilities & essentials- the ship will do everything you need, it's just a bit... plain, inside- there are no welders or 3D printers either, so ship building is purely a manual affair..

She is also very heavy and doesn't turn terribly well- think of her as a Station with maneuvering thrusters, so use her massive Jump Drive to travel from location to location, and the thrusters for finer orientation/positioning.

Summary:

Over all I wish I could have done more with this ship, the the game just can't handle these epic builds- you will need a decent PC to run this, make no mistake -but she makes a great hub for any fleet or a machinma production.

As per usual, if you like what you see please leave a Like, Subscribe, Follow etc, it helps to keep me motivated.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my HomeWorld ships on the workshop, I have a Collection which is updated regularly: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1818498339

i believe that is simply a limitation to the thinking behind the voxels, and maybe the code

Yeah, but SE isn't that kind of game- it's voxel based so we have to live within the limitations... or suffer Lord Clang's wrath as I have done several times...

could be fixed if there was either block consolidation or planular (point to point) hull creation

Aw dang :p
Still a great job though :)
Wish SE had a better engine. Especially for planet vehicles

@MADhorseKD- yeah, sorry about that; this ship is so detailed and large it exceeds the shape limit of the game so half the blocks have no physics collision anymore ( not something that can be turned off, hard-coded into the game as such ).

Just tried pasting this beauty. I was meaning to build it myself but this version is far beyond what i could manage to build on my own ^^'. I love it.
Though all square blocks and thrusters are non solid for some reason? (i did turn the block limit off)

This is how i like to build size wise lol Sad to hear engine cant handle it. Hope if is a SE 2 that it can handle larger builds then this. Great job though on it.

It would probably lag slightly less, but there is nothing you can do about the limitations of the physics engine- too many blocks causes them to start losing their collision physics, regardless of being a station or ship. I look forward to SE 2 with a better physics engine too.... :-/

suicideneil have tried making it a station, and not a ship... ? I wonder if it would work beter as a staion.

Awsome job, just wish I could play with it in game. And to think thats not even 1:1, I really wished they would change the engine to something that can handle large biulds. V_V
