@Zaphod your feedback really made my day, the map actually was from terrain.party at first but the heightmaps have their flaws. I took some time with it in Paint.NET first to make it more compatible to the game and modify some areas. After importing the heightmap I went through the whole map editing parts by hand, starting with big changes first and then cascading in to smaller areas and details.
Trying to get creative with the vanilla props was actually more fun than just leaving it all to the mod makers. I think it also makes it look a lot more personal compared to lot of the other maps there.
The map is far from perfect and if I get enough feedback I might make a new version out of it.
One thing I really like about this map is that you put in the time and effort to use the vanilla props. The rocks, downed logs, old stone walls, etc, that CO made are very good quality and already included, so why don't more mapmakers use them?
I guess some of the topography could be better, but then you did a good job freehanding it as opposed to just using terrainparty, so hey.
I'm going to try playing this one today.
