Megaguirus-class fleet carrier

Description
The Megaguirus class of fleet carriers is designed to deploy the top-of-the-line HD-1 and LDF-100-1M line of drones into contested orbits. Though it's rather expensive and also extremely, unbelievably, holy-crap-I've-seen-towns-smaller-than-that large, its stores of 30 top-of-the-line 1000km grade laser drones and 100 high-grade anti-capital railgun drones make a compelling argument for the "buy once, cry once" ethos.

Laser drone "LDF-100-1M":

Role: Anti-everything. A small complement (usually ~10) drones stay in formation to guard the Carrier Battle Group (CBG) from enemy missiles and drones while the rest are used for strike missions against enemy capships far out of the enemy's reach. While a true "starfighter" may have never come to pass, the LDF-100-1M is an excellent multi-role autonomous warfighter, capable of doing both combat space patrol and strike missions.

- 7 km/s dV

- 100 MW power output

- Laser intensity at 1000km: 13.1 MW/sq. m

- Laser intensity at 1 km: 13.1 TW/sq. m

HD-3:

Role:

Third installment in the ignominously named "Heavy Drone" series, the HD-3 provides a massive upgrade over the HD-2. While the only improvement the HD-2 offered over the HD-1 was three times the kinetic energy downrange, the HD-3 features a stupendous upgrade in maximum combat distance: from 21.7 km against a capital-sized target to over 170km thanks to a brand-new railgun. While engaging with laser drones is preffered, the HD-3 makes a suitable alternative if the enemy has heavy anti-laser measures in place.

Check your HD-3 drones. Their boron fuel tanks are broken.
