Description
---DISCLAIMER--- For the beacons to show up correctly, they must be placed by themselves, and not in a building! ---DISCLAIMER---

This is a pack of animated, rotating aviation beacon props (both the mesh and lights rotate). The rotation variaes according to the beacon type. This beacon has been set to display fully zoomed out on the map - place with caution (i.e. avoid having more than a few on a single map). Additionally, I recommend disabling any of these assets that you are not using in the game's asset menu.

These lights turn off during the daytime.

Contents:
  • Airport Beacon (green / white) used for lighted airport - they all have one
  • Seaport Beacon (yellow / white) used for seaplane bases
  • Military Airport Beacon (green / white / white) used for military airports

Performance: All assets share the same main mesh has 144 Tris, with a 28 Tri LOD. It uses a 128x128 Diffuse, Specular, Illumination texture.

Placement: To place these, plop the prop on the ground next to the building you wish to mount them on. Use moveIt to center the light (from above), then use PgUp to raise the light to the desired height (you may need to be in nightime to see this). If the prop does not raise up (it will do so slowly), make sure you have the prop snapping mod enabled, and make sure "conform to terrain" is not selected with moveIt.

@JoshC77 It's not a building, it's a prop. You will probably have to search for it using the FindIt! mod. Also, it only works with the old Custom Light Effects mod, which is probably not stable.

i really like the idea of this mod, but i cant find it in my game, what category is it under?, (eg, Transport, Unique Buildings etc)

@bvnshee They will only work with the Custom Light Effects mod. The replacement does not work the same way, and does not expose the rotating functionality as far as I am aware.

Can't get these to work with the replacement mod for Custom Light Effects. idk if anyone else is running/has run into that, but damn I wish these still worked for me

Does anyone know where I can find rotating or blinking orange light? To use on props

@alborzka Ah yeah, if anyone would have done it, it would have been Ronyx69 (since he made an asset for the building, and some lights for it too).

I told him to add a line about stability in the mod description, but I am not sure if he did so. When we were working on it, I noticed that the more lights that were added to the game, the more unstable it became. More lights here mean both many assets or many custom lights in a small area. The reason for it is a little complicated, but there is no workaround. There is a reason why CO doesn't support this by default. Which is why I suggested in this asset description to disable any assets with custom lights which you are not using (so that the game doesn't try to load them).

@vasimir OK awesome, I'll use those then! I'm trying to recreate these lights:

And yes, it's interesting you mention that because I'm finding with that Custom Light Effect mod enabled I get stuck on the loading screen even with the Loading Screen Mod with all assets enabled, but if I disable assets (but still enable all mods) I load fine. Ironically this only happened after I subbed to some more light props requiring that mod, and I'm on Linux so that may affect it, but yeah I think it may use a lot of memory or hardware or something :(

@alborzka I have some high intensity green floodlights in my runway light pack, however, I would recommend against using those for anything else. Other than that, I don't intend to make any other green floodlight assets. The problem with the custom light effect mod is that it makes the game more unstable... So the more lights you add (even loading the prop without actually placing it in the game), seems to cause problems.

Any way you can make some simple green lights like floodlights, floorlights, etc? There's no green lights on the workshop and on vanilla either :(

Great!
