The Daedalus-class Dreadnought was a 1st generation Dreadnought, which was developed by the Republic of Free Peoples as a way to counter United Sol Trade Federation (USTA) forces during the Battle of Vesta. Initially, the protype was deployed with reduced capabilities compared to its current iteration, and was destroyed in orbit around Vesta. However, its combat performance and upgrades to the main production variant allowed the Daedalus-class to be used in numbers, although it is a very expensive design. Seeing a Dreadnought class in Extraplanetary War-era combat was a rare sight and similar designs have resulted in extreme psychological fear on the enemy.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Although the Daedalus-class is basically the lore-based name for the Dreadnought, it is called a Dreadnought in the game for the purposes of maintaining consistency. Enjoy it! Oh and feel free to make upgrades and variants just in case.
