Description
READ THE DESCRIPTION!

I do not read the comments. I do not do requests. This is being uploaded exclusively for the purpose of GGG's Baikonur although you can use this for your own server if you want.

This addon contains both a day and night version of coast_03 from Half-Life 2. The original map decompiled for this was rp_coast_03. The main purpose of this map is to reduce clutter and fix several issues with rp_coast_03 that cause it to be a royal pain in the rear to use as a fighting map.

Map file names are:
gm_baik_coast_03
gm_baik_coast_03_night

Changes:

- Fixed bloom/HDR. Either valve or the person who made rp_coast_03 completely skullmemed the HDR settings by cranking them up to brain-meltingly high values.
- Removed about 87 light_enviornment entities. These don't technically do anything other than the original one but there's no reason for there to be several dozen of them.
- Removed leeches from the ocean. Absolutely killed ampibious vehicles on baik and made it near impossible to do stealth attacks on each team's caps.
- Slightly increased view distance. People always complained about beach house cap being able to see the opposite team before they could see them so I evened the playing field a bit.
- Removed all area portals. Sorry but decompiling broke these as well and I couldn't get them to function properly again. Fps may decrease slightly.

Rebel base changes:

- Removed/reduced general clutter. This includes cars and random props laying around.
- Removed dock fences. These forced most rebel-base side team vehicles to drive around the large hill and gave them a disadvantage.
- Removed alarm buttons. They're annoying.
- Retextured extensive amounts of brushes. Decompiling wasn't friendly to this area so I did my best.

Beach House / Center House changes:

- Removed all/most junk from the garage.
- Removed thumper.
- Removed passageway dock. Seriously, screw that thing.
- Removed broken door.
- Removed some clutter near the stream.

Basement house:

- Removed fences blocking ramp down.

Other:

- Added night version for giggles. Isn't particularly great and the moon is kinda broken so use at your own risk.

Q: Why is the moon broken?

Q: Why are all the screenshots so square?
A: I play with dual 5:4 aspect LCD screens so everything I do is near square.

the barracks of the rebel base is too dark to see, I don't know if it's only me getting this issue, my settings are on the highest, bloom is off...

Why did you remove the passage dock? Also I'm trying to find a map most similiar to the HL2 map d2_coast_08, but I can't find any. This is the closest i can find.

Love the baik maps, they're great for other large-scale gamemodes like hungergames or ground control; or of course you could use them as more 'atmospheric' building maps.

I'm honestly surprised that there was a coast edit.

Hey, another dual 5:4 monitor user! What I did for my screenshots, just to make them look less awkward, was add black bars to the side so they would be centered in the previews.
