Should be "your" ;)
I survived for about seven months before my character had sadly gotten the plague and died despite my ways of trying to stop it multiple times.
As LaughingJackals said, I started out with a Yorkshire Terrier, which wasn't all bad for me in the end. His name was Spot and he eventually died from a fox and a warg.
This is somewhat challenging if you don't get someone who can do everything, though you can get very lucky. It seems like that the percentage of getting another colonist is extremely low. I went on four about seven hours straight without getting a single colonist, and the final one I did get eventually died due to her unfortunate injuries.
I love the scenario, i'm going to keep playing it over and over. 8/10.
