1.40

Minor update to fix an endless loop that can occur if you try to do a "clean save" with this mod while the Forget script is running.

Remember that warning about "not saving until Forget finishes running"? That's why!

UPDATE 1.30

"Forget Items" has been fixed... you can now tell a container to "Forget" specific items it has learned to stash. A Progress Notification has been added as well, which should give you a rough idea of how long you have to wait. This lengthy process is due to a bug in Skyrim; we hope to one day have it work as fast as its sister-spell, Erase Memory.

Crates and Coffins are no longer moveable after "settling" into containers. It was an interesting experiment, but they tended to fall through the floor if you set anything on them.

Thrown containers should no longer knock over the player, just NPCs.

16 new "Rename" options have been added, to better reflect the options available in the Presets.

Presets have been cleaned up a bit... quest items removed, a few missing items added.

UPDATE 1.12 - "The Lesser of Two Evils" Patch

- 'Forget Items' is temporarily disabled. This was necessary to fix a bug some users were experiencing ("ABC Removal Done" loop) when upgrading from previous versions. Don't worry, it will return shortly; this patch is to allow affected users to continue using the mod while we test the fix to make sure it works properly this time.

This problem affected users who had used "Forget Items" in the previous build, AND were also affected by the random "FormList" bug introduced in Skyrim 1.7 (and made much worse in 1.9), AND saved their game while the original script was still running in the background (it takes a while to run).

If all three conditions were met, a utility script in this mod would run endlessly, attempting to 'clean' something that no longer exists, resulting in a message "ABC Removal Done" appearing endlessly, and in some cases, the player being unable to move.

A fix is underway and will be released shortly, once we have thoroughly tested it.

- 'Beacon Gems' are now more aggressively destroyed, to fix an incompatibility with another mod which was causing them to persist.

- 'Alabaster Coffins' were removed from the build to prevent an issue when players used "coc" command to visit the top-secret development site. They will be available in the next point release.

1.1

Many containers in the world can now be picked up to your inventory and dropped anywhere else in the world. Their inventories remain intact!

Added Physics to crafted containers - just drop them on the ground and drag them around.

You can Resize any containers in the world.

Added many more Craftable Containers, including pouches, sacks, coffins, and crates. 18 total styles, more to come.

Containers purchasable from many vendors. Please allow 48 game hours for these to appear (and they are still kinda rare).

Fixed the "Forget Items" and "Forget Chest" bugs that many folks were getting since last patch came out.

Removed numerous Quest items from Presets. This only affects new presets; containers that have already had presets applied will still grab Quest items... just tell them to Forget and tech the Preset again.

Added Powers for the barbarian crowd for some of the more powerful container spells.

1.03

Fixed a dirty edit bug with Iron Ingots.

Added 30 new "Rename" options.

Added a warning about renaming - you can only do it once.

Re-renaming: Because of the way Skyrim works, I had to make a choice: either allow you to rename a single chest unlimited times, but you cannot apply that name to any other chest, or allow you to give multiple chests the same name, but you cannot re-rename them. Since most players have multiple homes, I chose the latter as being the lesser of two evils... that way you can have a "Smithing" chest in Breezehome as well as Poopstain Manor.

If you simply must re-rename a chest, simply use Configure:Move and shove the current chest below the floorboards, then craft a new one in its place. That way you can still get to the original if you need it.

Or worst case, you can also shut the main mod off, load and save a game, then turn it on again. All container names, presets, and abilities such as remote stash settings will reset. Moved containers, however, will remain in their new locations.

LATEST UPDATE NOTES

RELEASE 1.0

Renamed Mod to "Arod's Better Containers", to better represent all the new features.

Targeting containers is now 100% accurate when dealing with vanilla or DLC content. Targeting issues may still happen with some third-party housing mods, but I can add support for popular ones if I get enough requests.

Added Craftable Containers: Barrels, Safes, 3 Chests, and small Strong Boxes.

Most setup-type spells from beta versions have been consolidated into a single Lesser Power called Container:Configure.

Full support for Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard DLC content (containers and presets) via optional support mods available on Steam and Nexus. The support mod format has been made public for third party developers who wish to include their own presets and containers. Plans are already underway to support Tytanis, Fishing In Skyrim, Improved Fish, and Dohvakin Hideout.

You can now Rename containers to any of 60 presets. More to come.

Move Containers ability is now far more intuitive, with a "move to me" command, and more player-friendly directional controls.

More presets added: Weapons has been broken down into 1H, 2H and Ranged, and Armor is split into Heavy and Light, among other things. Almost 40 presets now, to suit any taste. Presets now customizable.

Stash Learning (and unlearning) is a lot more intuitive.

Improved the tutorial on several spells. You only see these once now, as well.
