Update: 10 Apr, 2018 @ 10:45am

Version 2.0.2 - Another minor QoL patch, focused more on number tweaks.

Balance Improvements:

  • Increased Defiant Gust's damage by ~20%
  • Increased Physical and Magical armour on Feather Shield and Mass Feather Shield by ~15%
  • Increased Stormbreath's range from 7m to 8m to match Defiant Gust.
  • Increased Zephyr's damage by ~12%
  • Increased Eye of the Storm's damage by ~10% and reduced its cooldown from 6 turns to 5 turns. Also slightly reworded the tooltip.

  • Improved Winds of Change's tooltip.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug where removing Toggle Harpy from memory whilst active would cause the buff and the Glide spell granted by it to remain.

Harpy's damage and utility feels about right now. Please let me know in the Discussions section if you have any further suggestions or improvements to make.

Thanks!

Update: 9 Apr, 2018 @ 11:17am

Version 2.0.1 - This patch is a QoL follow-up from the Version 2 patch. There are slight modifications to skills to improve the Harpy playstyle and experience.

Balance Improvements:

  • Defiant Blust has been reworked and renamed to Defiant Gust. The spell no longer pushes enemies backwards, instead it deals Air damage in a small cone and Tumbles the enemy (same as Knockdown but with a Magical Armour saving throw). This change had to be made due to several factors:
    • Blowback effects are very buggy in the game. In fact, this spell causes the game to crash in several locations and fights.
    • Harpy's were incredibly weak between levels 1-4 as they only have access to two damaging spells, hindering the ability to play a solo run or lone wolf. Giving Defiant Gust damage helps this experience.
    • The design was just bad if I'm being honest. Sure it was useful to push enemies away and it looked cool, but it also pushed them out of range of both you and your allies like 80% of the time. My playtesters often didn't bother picking the skill up because of this!
  • Feather Shield can now be self-cast - you don't need an ally to cast it anymore.
  • Mass Feather Shield now has a slightly longer cooldown, but can be self cast and applies Mirror Coat to allies. This is to bring it up to a 2 Source Point skill standard.
  • Wicked Touch now only applies Mad for 1 turn instead of 2 - this is because Fatal Attraction has a Charm effect and the kit may be overloaded with both of them.

All-in-all, the Harpy should feel better to play now, especially for solo runs. Having a Magical-based knockdown spell is very useful, especially in a full-mage party.

Update: 13 Mar, 2018 @ 5:29am

Another big update has landed, adding 5 new skills as well as various fixes and improvements.

IMPORTANT: I have had to rescript some of the backend to the class, meaning that existing Harpy class saves will need to re-obtain the skills, as their character will have forgotten them. I sincerely apologise for this, but without these changes, other mods can easily cause incompatibilities.

However, to remedy this issue, a chest has been added to each of the acts, where the player can obtain the Harpy skill books which correspond to their level:

  • Fort Joy: A chest on the landing beach.
  • Reaper's Coast: A chest on the decking outside Meistr's house.
  • Nameless Isle: A chest in front of the entrance (vines) to Armadia's Sky Temple.
  • Arx: A chest on the path leading up to the Lady Vengeance.

New skills:
  • Prey (Starter tier):
    • Mark your prey (No saving throw), reducing Wits, Air Resistance, Physical, and Piercing Resistance for 3 turns.
    • AP: 1, Cooldown: 3 turns, Memory Slot(s): 1, Requirements: Aerotheurge 1
  • Feather Shield (Novice tier):
    • Ascend and then swoop down to an ally, shielding them and yourself, granting Physical and Magic Armor for 2 turns.
    • AP: 2, Cooldown: 3 turns, Memory Slot(s): 1, Requirements: Aerotheurge 1 + Hydrosophist 1
  • Throat Slash (Novice tier):
    • Claw at the target's throat, dealing Physical damage. Sets Suffocating for 2 turns. If the target is already Suffocating, they are Silenced for 2 turns instead..
    • AP: 3, Cooldown: 3 turns, Memory Slot(s): 1, Requirements: Aerotheurge 1 + Scoundrel 1
  • Mass Feather Shield (Adept tier):
    • Swoop down to up to 3 allies, shielding them and yourself, granting Physical and Magic Armor for 2 turns.
    • Source: 1, AP: 2, Cooldown: 3 turns, Memory Slot(s): 2, Requirements: Aerotheurge 2 + Hydrosophist 2
  • Hunting Grounds (Master tier):
    • Screech at target area, dealing Air damage to enemies. All enemies in the area are marked as Prey for 2 turns.
    • Source: 2, AP: 3, Cooldown: 5 turns, Memory Slot(s): 2, Requirements: Aerotheurge 3
Skill tweaks:
  • Zephyr:
    • NEW: Has a 50% chance to apply Suffocating.
  • Wicked Touch:
    • Damage increased ~15%
  • Become Harpy:
    • Removed the Polymorph 1 requirement, as this shoe-horned new classes into starting with a point in Polymorph.
Other changes:
  • New skill icons for Ravage and Overwhelming Shriek.
  • Improved Wind Sheath and Ravage tooltips.
  • Fixed a bug with the status name of the Wind Sheath buff.
  • Increased Mai Valen's level throughout each of the acts to prevent accidental one-shotting.
  • As mentioned in the important section of these notes, added a chest containing applicable Harpy skills in each of the acts.

Update: 11 Mar, 2018 @ 4:24am

All Harpy skills are now compatable with Game Master mode, making it easier for you to view and try them out! Also, a new Novice-tier skill has been added, as well as various skills getting QoL improvements and tweaks:

    • Breathe Electrified Water in a cone in front of you, dealing Air damage and applying shocked.
    • AP: 2, Cooldown: 3 turns, Memory Slot(s): 1, Requirements: Aerotheurge 2
Skill tweaks:
  • Eye of the Storm:
    • Damage increased ~40%
    • Moved from Novice tier to Adept tier.
    • No longer leaves Blessed Smoke in its wake (this was due to issues with the AI and smokeclouds provided a bad gamelplay experience, especially for casters)
    • No longer applies Suffocating.
    • NEW: Leaves a trail of Electrified Water
  • Magic Sheath:
    • NEW: Now also grants Magic Armor.
  • Zephyr:
