Update: 19 Jun @ 11:46am

Some new changes once more.

General changes:
- Familiar-type items were removed as it was a niche and kind of weird mechanic, especially with item interactions. This means Mettaton, Pet Rock and Lil Metta were either changed or replaced.
- Most cards that used the Determination Mono Web font now use the Determination Sans Web font. The exceptions to that are ENTRY NUMBER SEVENTEEN's card image, and the MTT News loot cards/MTT News Reporter monster's flavor text on the card background.
- The total count of healing loot has been reduced: Bisicle, Crab Apple, Legendary Hero, Monster Candy and Spider Cider's amounts have all been reduced by 1, and the amount of Popato Chisps has been reduced by 2. This means most healing loot only have 2 copies in the deck now, barring a few exceptions.

- These cards haven't necessarily received major changes to their effects (if they have, they'll be listed further below), but still had their text cleaned up or reworded a little:
Starting Items: Arm Cannon, Golden Flower Tea
Loot: Basketball Bomb, Big Bomb, Legendary Hero, LOAD, Lone Bone, Monster Candy, Punch Card, RESET, SAVE, Slice of Pie, Soul of the Wicked, Soul of the Swindler
Monsters: Dummy, Each of the Followers and Goners, as well as [REDACTED] (they all only activate once now), Ragel, RG01 and RG02
Bosses: Muffet
Events: Spike Maze, The Barrier
Rooms: An Ending, Last Corridor, New Home, Snowy Fog, The Surface
Treasure: Ballet Shoes, Butterscotch-Cinnamon Pie, Dog Residue, Echo Flower, Empty Gun, Gaster Blaster, LOVE, Stained Apron, The Umbrella, Tough Glove, Trash Can, Treadmill

Characters/Starting Items/Final Powers:
- Alphys' starting item changes away from Mettaton and becomes Lab Monitor, allowing her to look at 3 cards in one's hand and prevent the hand's owner from using one of them until Alphys' turn starts.
- With that, her final power changes into Lab Computer as well, allowing her to look at 3 cards from everyone else's hands, and disable up to 3 total between all hands.
- Hyper Goner now costs 2 loot cards to use, and only lets you make an attack roll on a single monster.
- Soulless gives back items Flowey steals when he dies as well, meaning the flower can't just kill himself after stealing something and get rid of that item through the death penalty.
- Dapper Blook now specifies that the health it sets is your max HP, not just how much health you have, so you can't heal it back after it triggers.
- GENOCIDE and PACIFISM now count killing players for both flipping conditions.
- Golden Flower Tea's healing effect now mentions that you can only target players with it.
- SOUL Experiments is, once again, completely changed: it is now an item that uses the official Familiar tag (meaning it can be attacked as if it were a monster) and can copy a dead boss' stats, effects and rewards until killed. Effects and rewards stack if used multiple times, but the stats use the last copied boss' stats. Of course, souls don't count as part of rewards, so they aren't copied either.
- The Reclusive (Tainted Alphys) has her final power changed as well, because of this. It allows her to gain rewards for SOUL Experiments' death even if she isn't the one attacking it.
- Monsterkind's Heroine uses the term "Starting Item" instead of "Eternal Item", as it's intended to interact with those.
- Monster King, Asgore's final power, now allows him to deal extra damage when starting an attack based on how many levels SOUL Container holds.

Loot Cards:
- Asgore's Key and Soul of the Misanthrope now mention that you can't cover a monster being attacked with their effects.
- Dog Bomb uses the community keyword "Nullify" to simplify things. Nullifying a target means the target loses all abilities except for Eternal, as seen in the Four Souls Universal Keywords doc.
- ERASE uses the community keyword "Banish" instead, also from the Universal Keywords doc. Banishing a target means removing it from the game.
- Hot Dog's 3-4 effect is reworded to preventing 2 damage (wording used by Holy Chest) instead of an instance of up to 2 damage (wording used by The Hierophant).
- Soul of the Reclusive is completely changed: You can target a boss someone controls as a soul with it, and it becomes attackable for the turn. If it dies, the active player gets to steal it as their soul, alongside the rewards from killing it. Note: I'm not sure if bosses that are attackable while being souls work exactly, but I'm guessing you can't target them as if they were monsters with effects like Bomb's 1 damage?
- Soul of the Repentant's effect now applies the next time another player kills a monster regardless of turn. The optimal way to use it is obviously still to respond to a monster's death, but this should enable characters that can't do that (like Viridian) to use it.

Monsters/Bosses:
- Madjick now mentions it swaps non-eternal items, meaning you can't swap starting items or other Eternal items anymore.
- Pyrope's reward is lowered by 1 cent.
- Mad Mew Mew now specifies where the extra damage she would deal when splitting it through her ability goes, if her ATK is increased. It's you. The active player. Get damaged.
- Photoshop Flowey no longer needs to mention that combat resumes. They never needed to, because combat doesn't end if death is prevented anyway.

Rooms:
- Both Dog Shrine rooms now take 25+ counters to fulfill instead of 15+, considering how good their rewards are.
- Spider Bake Sale now doubles its own price if you control the most souls, instead of increasing it by 3 cents. It's only a 1 cent increase, and it made the card text cleaner, so it was pretty convenient.
- The Surface now only expands monster slots by 2, and only the first time it enters play, similarly to the Followers' effects.

Items:
- Bone Painting goes from dealing 1 non-lethal damage at the start of your turn to dealing 1 damage at the end of it, if you didn't attack anything.
- Bravery's reword would normally be unimportant, but it does matter: before, it disabled curses completely, meaning the "Curse" tag effect is also cancelled, also meaning curses couldn't be discarded. Now, it ignores said tag and lets you discard them if you die with it.
- Burnt Pan now requires 5 counters per extra HP instead of 4.
- Cowboy Hat uses rounds, but they're a little funky. The wording means that you can only target someone who's died during the last round. What that means is, if it's your turn, you can target someone who died between your current turn and your last one. If it isn't, you can only target someone who died inbetween your last 2 turns. Rounds are apparently counted dependent on the player who controls the item, in this case.
- Both Group Photography and Group Photography? use rounds as well, but because they trigger at the start of your turn anyway (when the previous round ends and when the next one starts) it isn't as weird.
- Kindness now gives 2 cents instead of 3.
- Lil Metta becomes a Familiar item that can let you force others into attacking it. If it dies, you steal 2 loot from the active player.
- Mirror can't affect Ambush loot anymore, and the roll of 2 effect gives you the card after it resolves instead of when it enters discard. Yes, you can steal Basketball Bomb or Monster Candy with this.
- NEUTRAL no longer lets its holder attack others or be attackable by them. Probably one of the most necessary fixes due to the ease of softlocking a game.
- Old Tutu only gives a single cent instead of 2.
- Pet Rock takes the damage off of you on attack rolls of 1, and makes the active player discard 2 loot when it dies.
- Snow Papyrus and Snow "Sans" now use the "Nullify" keyword instead of needing to be flipped.
- Statue can only copy non-paid abilities instead of any activated abilities.
- Water Cooler has been nerfed: instead of gaining counters when people discard loot, it gains counters when people play loot, and it requires 5 counters to heal 1 HP to a monster or player, as opposed to just one counter.

Update: 8 Jun, 2024 @ 2:47am

A bunch of changes, not quite a small update, but also not a big one I think??

New stuff: Final Powers!!
They've been made for a while but I wasn't sure on whether or not to release them, but essentially, they're this expansion's compatible cards, or "Zenith" cards, if that makes it clearer. It's a special type of item cards the modding community came up with, and to make it short, they start outside the game, they're character-specific, almost all of them are meant to strengthen their respective characters (the only exception right now is Asgore,) and they can't be stolen, copied, swapped around or just moved away from your posession outside of being destroyed. If destroyed, they also don't go to the item discard despite acting like almost-eternal items.

With them comes a way to obtain them in the expansion as well, which is the creatively-named loot card "Final Power" which will give a compatible card to its user. If the character doesn't have one such card, they gain 3 treasure and discard one instead. The loot card itself can't be copied or cancelled either.

Balance!!!!!!!
Flowey (the character) gains a second activated ability to replace the passive one, which lets him heal 1 health to a monster or player, giving the option to use Soulless if you don't want to use that second loot play.

A SOUL (Frisk's starting item) gains a new passive ability, letting it recharge at the end of its controller's turn, similarly to base-game items like D6 or Book of Belial.

Blue Attack no longer lets you choose the same item twice in a row, and it also can't target eternal items anymore.

DT Extractor gets a much-needed change! Instead of giving you a random starting item each turn, it does that at the start of the game once, and you can then activate it to change it again. It still keeps counters and levels between changes, so now it's a whole lot better at working with those kinds of items. Still not compatible with flip-type items though.

Fire Magic changes as well, and although not as needed as the previous items, Toriel wasn't very fun to play as before, so this is an attempt to change that. Her starting item now heals a monster or player, and deals damage to a different target if you heal someone that isn't yourself. I haven't tested this one since I came up with it while updating the expansion, so do tell if it's got issues.

Hatred receives a buff! The Wicked can't target himself with it anymore, and targeted monsters or players that die not only give him money, but also a loot play to mitigate the fact that he doesn't get that from his own character card.

Motherly Protection can't be used on its owner's turn anymore, it's a minor change, but still a change.

Papyrus' Head is reworked as well. Instead of giving 1 Pity Counter when dying and 2 Pity Counters when another player damages or kills you, it gives 2 Pity Counters when they damage or kill you, as well as when they target you with an ability. It's only when they target specifically you, not your items or loot, and also doesn't include stuff that targets everyone. I'm also not sure about how well-balanced this one is, it may be on the strong side, so do tell if it is.

Ratings Chart gets buffed "slightly." It gains a counter for every loot played instead of every 2 loot played in one turn, allowing Mettaton EX to get shop discounts easier.

SOUL Experiments changes entirely, now instead of giving buffs, it lets you use any boss a player controls as a soul as a 1/1 familiar to attack. Unlike regular Alphys' Mettaton, it's also free, since the bosses used have their stats reduced for the attack, and only keep their effects. You also don't get anything if they die while attacking, the soul just goes back to its owner and no rewards are given.

Soulless receives Flowey's former passive ability. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but considering how limited the information on how healing works is in the official extended rules, I'm erring on the side of caution here.

Thundersnail now also makes you gain cents if you were to swap or steal loot, not just when you'd gain or be given loot. The Loot Card trinket still gets to go in your hand though. It's the only exception I'm aware of now.

Group Photography no longer gives its owner 2 loot for surviving, instead making everyone else who did survive and get 2 loot give them a loot card.

Water Cooler now starts with 0 counters, and gains a counter when anyone discards loot, and gaining the ability to heal monsters. It may be a little broken because of that second part, but this one I've also not been able to try out, so do tell if it is!

FIGHT now gives +1 to rolls for the next two rolls instead of one, to make it a more viable option, since compared to the +1 to damage for a whole turn, it was pretty weak.

Hot Dog's second effect prevents an instance of up to 2 damage instead of just 2 damage, and its third effect can only target damaged monsters, just so that it actually does something :)

Starfait also only prevents a single instance of up to 2 damage instead of just 2 damage.

Glyde's rewards get nerfed from 2 treasure to 2 loot and 7 cents, as tanky as he was, he also was, more often than not, a free kill due to that 3+ dice stat and 1 damage stat.

Greater Dog's effect changes from simply going away after a full turn cycle to permanently losing 1 health for every turn he's ignored. With that, his health is also buffed from 5 to 8.

Ice Cap's damage-losing effect triggers after a single turn instead of having to wait a whole cycle.

Both Dog Shrines' effects last 2 rounds instead of one!

Spider Bake Sale doubles the buying price for everyone who has the most souls, instead of just the active player. This expansion and base-game Four Souls don't contain anything that'd let you buy outside your turn, but you never know with other mods.

Wishing Room can't be used in response to rolls anymore, to avoid cheesing for free loot and money.

These cards were changed in wording, usually to clear up some wrongly-worded effects:
- Spear of Justice (specifies "another player" instead of just "a player" on its on-kill effect)
- Torn Notebook (added "this turn" at the end of the effect text to ensure the damage prevention doesn't carry over)
- ACT (minor spelling mistake saying "cart" instead of "card")
- SAVE (damage prevention only lasts for the turn)
- Reaper Bird (the effect triggers the first time each turn they're attacked, and the attacking player is the one choosing which stat gets nerfed instead of the active player)
- RG01 and RG02 (both of them now mention their buffs are applied to cards on their left and right instead of just "adjacent to them")
- Whimsalot (his effect only applies once per turn now, and targets the active player instead of the attacking one)
- Whimsun (damage prevention only lasts until the end of turn)
- Wishing Room (its effect only triggers on the "next" roll instead of the "first" roll)

These cards have had their art changed, the reason being that they have been using the item art from Binding of Undertale the entire time. I based myself around either the replaced art or the game's sprites when I could. I may not be as good at art, but it'll do:
- Arm Cannon
- A Stick
- Asgore's Crown
- Blue Attack (The shape is taken from UNDERTALE's sprites)
- Broken Mirror (The mirror frame and reflection are taken from UNDERTALE's sprites)
- Cowboy Hat
- Crab Apple
- Faded Ribbon
- Instant Noodles
- Manly Bandanna
- Mettaton (Alphys' starting item) (Uses UNDERTALE's sprites)
- Mirror (The mirror frame and reflection are taken from UNDERTALE's sprites)
- Monster Candy
- Muffet's Pet (Uses its representation in the Swindler's card art)
- Old Tutu
- Popato Chisps
- Spear of Justice (I essentially made a bigger-size sprite based on the in-game one)
- Spider Donut
- Stained Apron
- Steak in the Shape of Mettaton's Face (Recolored sprite from MTT Brand Burger Emporium's menu
- Toy Knife
- Undying Will
- Undying Wrath

Update: 17 Jun, 2022 @ 7:56am

Small update because I forgot to create duplicates of the loot cards that needed duplicates.

Update: 17 Jun, 2022 @ 7:49am

A bunch of balance changes, as well as the removal of stuff like the Eternal Item Pile or the Reclusive's Amalgamate Pile.
A few new events/happenings, one new item, three new monsters, one new trinket loot were added as well.
Two new sprites for Hot Dog and the Locket that replaces the old ones to look better. I'm proud of that locket sprite.
Nothing much otherwise.

Update: 18 Nov, 2021 @ 1:03pm

The Swindler/Tainted Muffet is no longer bad and stinky.

Now instead of emptying everyone's hands, her character card can let her steal one random loot card from someone else or use a loot card normally, while her eternal is a passive that doubles the effects of stolen loot.

Update: 20 Oct, 2021 @ 1:32pm

After half a year of literally nothing, the update's finally here.

- The cards now all look cool, and some have had effect changes to not be ass. No, Photoshop Flowey is STILL as difficult as it was before. Feel free to die to him.

- We removed Temmie, Dog, Trait and Deleted tags because they were basically shuffle material.

- Because of that, we removed a few of the Tem/Dog related cards... And somehow we ended up with more cards than we started with????

- By that I mean we added a whole bunch of new stuff... On the next few lines!

- Loot cards that heal you and are half-useless because healing sucks!

- Other loot cards that actually have cool rocks on them and do really strong effects!

- Room cards that include things like staying a corpse until your turn starts, or even... Dating a skeleton!

- About the "Dating a skeleton" part, you're actually fighting another player on a date. But it's still dating a skeleton if the other player is a skeleton character!

- A ton of new "Tainted" characters inspired by Repentance's Tainteds. Why did we make them? Don't ask me. We just thought it would be cool.

- No more Jevil. This is Undertale, and I should probably work on the Deltarune expansion again.

- Side notes, for all the wacky stuff the expansion has! I may expand it if needed. You guys tell me.

- You can have a pet rock familiar!

- Uhh... You can also have amalgamates?

- Okay I'm running out of words to put here, but if you wanna see the changes, you can look at the spreadsheet.

Update: 17 Nov, 2020 @ 9:39am

Welcome to (finally) a new update to the expansion, that we've decided to name Murder and Madness!

Key features of this new update include:
- 2 new characters and eternal items, Chara with Golden Flowers and Flowey with Soulless.
- A bunch of new monsters to beat up, like MTT variations and... "bed spoon"?
- Also a bunch of new items to buy, like Cheese.
- PACIFISM has been added in the treasure pile as well.
- 11 new happenings, to make your experiences with the monster deck better (or worse).
- A whole bunch of balance changes, and you better believe 6 Souls got changed for the twentieth time.

Smaller changes but still cool ones:
- Jevil is now an animated card for MORE CHAOS, CHAOS!
- Redacted is now a Void monster because otherwise Toast will not stop asking me about it.
- Speaking of which, the Void archetype was changed to Deleted so that it doesn't conflict with another popular mod, Unknown Depths.

Things that are still missing or bad and smelly:
- Card art for several characters, because Muffet cripples me.
- Some balance could still be needed.
- I completely forgot to name the cards in their decks, I'll get on it in a few dozen hours.
- Turns out I never got on it. I'm so good.

I'll update the spreadsheet in due time, I guess.

On another note, we've started working on yet another update that could potentially be the last big one.

Update: 7 Oct, 2019 @ 3:32pm

Now with most character cards having their own art, made by me. Don't expect anything good, because I'm not an artist.

Two new cards:
-Pacifism, the item that works similarly to Genocide but with a completely different effect.
-Snowed Inn, a happening that allows you to attack once more, and choose between +1 HP for the turn or +1 to your three next attack rolls.

Lots of balance changes, including:
-Asgore (boss) isn't as painful to fight as he used to be.
-Muffet's Pet doesn't destroy items and only counts non-eternal items for its "taxes".
-Jevil and the Fallen Human are now actual bosses with an actually higher chance to kill people.
-Gaster (boss) isn't as much RNG'd as he was before, at the cost of not giving a Gaster Blaster anymore.
-Telescope isn't near-useless anymore.
-Sans actually buffed his puzzle trinket, thank god that Papyrus told him to do it about a hundred times.
-Undyne (character), her Eternal Item and the DEVILSKNIFE now work with states instead of needing to swap card faces.
-That, in turn, allows the Heroine's Will to be added to the DT Extractor's Eternal Item pile.
-Conveniently-Shaped Lamp doesn't have its confusingly shaped text anymore, its effect fully changed.
-And a few more changes, including some wording changes, but Gaster will kill me if I take too long to write this.

Update: 7 Jun, 2019 @ 12:45pm
