Update: 2 Jun, 2024 @ 11:52pm

So funny story, this update has been done for awhile, but I forgot to release it and then life got in the way of things. So I am glad to finally release this. Also worth saying this all works on my end, but I know sometimes modding is wierd and there could be conflicts so hopefully this works for you guys as well.

All that aside, this update is largely to add more customizability to the ears and tail, all done through the mod config while in the ship. For both virtual and normal styles, there are now several new styles all around changing the colors of the white fluff on each cosmetic. These are designated by color and style, and come in red, blue, orange, and black. For example, changing to the low poly virtual model with the fluff recolored to blue, you would need to go and select Blue Virt! from the mod config.

That is not all however, as there is also a new dyed variant, named in the config as Double Dyed or Double Virt for the normal and low poly models respectively. The main part is still tied to hair color or texture, but with the double dyed variants the white fluff is now tied to Orange color on a dye, aka the color of the button on top of Hat Kid's zipper.

Mod is unchanged outside of these new styles for the ears and tail.

MINOR UPDATE 9/20/20

- Honestly the transparent capes grew on me, so all skins now have transparency on their capes. Ko-yanskaya and Sen-ko are completely transparent, but Cas-ko and Cat-ko still have a design that simply make use of transparecy.

- Skins are fixed for Bow Kid: Cape textures are removed from the script and are now tied to custom bodies for Hat Kid, so Bow Kid no longer has weird looking coats on Cas-ko and Cat-ko, and now longer gets a Hat Kid Body with the skins

UPDATE 9/13/2020

Hey hey people, Metal here.

Remember how I said I couldn't think of much to add outside of an actual Tamamo costume?

Well, that still hasn't happened. But I think I did find a nice middle ground after some experience with the Dante Must Dye! Pack. And so, another update.

- All 4 dyes in the pack now have custom textures. All seek to somewhat replicate the look of the intended character. Some details have been ommited for hopefully obvious reasons, but I actaully am really happy with how they turned out.

- Cas-ko and Cat-ko have custom capes. It was originally intended for Ko-yanskaya and Sen-ko to have the capes made invisible and Cas-ko and Cat-ko were gonna have some transparency in their capes.
However, I forgot that without the cape you can see into the void of Hat Kid's neck, and the shoulders look a bit awkward, so the cape transparency idea was scrapped.

- In the same vein of character accuracy Cat-ko and Ko-yanskaya have custom hands. Ko-yanskaya's are just black gloves, while Cat-ko has orange glove with poorly drawn toe beans.

Nothing else is new, just gave the dyes a visual overhaul. I may add some stuff for Bow Kid in the future, as adding a Body mesh but not specifying for Bow Kid means both kids get the normal one, so on the custom glove-d dyes Bow Kid gets Hat Kid's body, but considering no skin is showing and how it actually looks I think it looks fine for now, but I may change it later. IDK, I quite honestly don't play Bow Kid much.

UPDATE 9/7/2020

Hey all, Metal here!

So I've realized lately I actually really like the dyed version of the fox ears and tail. I also have been using Dyable Virtual Kid lately. Unlike the bow, the virtual versions of the ears and tail are not dyable. Update time!

- New option for ears and tail in config: DVirt! Short for Dyed Virtual, this is a variant of the Virtual setting that is, well, dyable! Reads off of the hair color, like the normal dyed ears and tail. Still no dyed Wireframe, but if there ends up being a dyeable Wireframe mod similar to dyed Virtual Kid in the future, that will be added.

- Two new skins! One should be be obvious for anyone who knows the Tamamos we've seen in Fate/Grand Order: Tamamo Vicchi! Titled Ko-yanskaya, and epic rarity, this dye sports a black and pink palette reminiscent of that of Tamamo Vicchi. Sadly this one breaks my pattern of using Riyo art of the Tamamos, as it appears there is none of Tamamo Vicchi yet, at least as far as I could see on Google.

-The other skin, then, is one based not on a Tamamo, but another adorable fox-girl, the helpful fox Senko-san! Gold rarity and titled Sen-ko, this dye lets you look like the helpful fox herself, especially when used with dyed variants of the ears and tail.

As with Cas-ko and Cat-ko, the new dyes are unlocked immediately. That's all for this update!

UPDATE 9/3/2020

ANOTHAH ONE.

- Added Virtual, Wire, and CWire options for the ears and tail. Virtual and Wire are meant to emulate the Virtual Kid and Wireframe skins, complete with the Wire ones being all green. CWire then is an alternative for the Wire option, having it remain a wireframe but with the original colors of the ears and tail.

- The bow can now be used as a cosmetic! It comes with five options, those being off, on, virtual, wire, and cwire. When using the normal one or the wire one alongside the bow flairs, there should be little to no issues - they use the same model with the same placement, afterall, but be aware that there is a possibilty of things poking through if say, using the wire cosmetic bow while using a normal dye with the bow flair.

- Probably something else I forgot due to having a 9 hour shift between finishing the update and typing up patch notes to release it lol.

Admittedly some of the wireframe textures aren't the best - due to UV overlap parts of the white fluff on the ears are completely filled in and the only way to undo that would also cause some lines on the edges of the fluff to disappear, so I am at a loss as to how I can fix that. Likewise the Virtual ones don't entirely match the style of Virtual Kid. They're low poly, sure, but that's about it: They are more like jagged rocks than the blocky bliss that is Virtual Kid. I've added smoothing groups to them as it actually kinda helps a bit, but overall it still doesn't match.

Hopefully the wireframes are at least a bit better than the WIP images posted in the discord. Long story short I finally found the function to convert tris to polys. :P

UPDATE 9/1/20

Frequent updates, I know, but I keep getting ideas to improve the mod. At this point though I don't know what else I could add other than an actual Tamamo dress costume, but rigging anything with more than 2 bones is not something I know how to do right. Anyway, patch notes:

- All bow flairs have updated icons that show the hat the flair is for in the corner of the icon. This should make it easier to not only find the flair you want, but also see from a glance in the hat wheel which bow is which.

- Dweller bow flair now has glowy eyes like other dweller flairs. They glow yellow, however, as a reference to how both characters represented in this mod have yellow eyes.

- Custom item for the brewing flair! Now using the brewing Tamamo bow will have you throw a few of Tamamo's paper talismans. Also uses the red explosing from the game files instead of the purple one. No trial though since there is no red trail and I do not understand particle systems quite yet.

MINOR UPDATE 8/30/2020

Little bit of cleanup removing redundant items:

-Only one set of hat flairs now with just the bow, since the ears can be added and dyed from the mod menu with any hat or flair whenever in the spaceship or main menu

-Dyes reduced to two, Cas-ko and Cat-ko. since the tail can be added and dyed from the mod menu with any dye or costume or even playable character whenever in the spaceship or main menu

-Assets made specifically for these removed items have also been removed to reduce content file size
