Update: 21 Sep, 2023 @ 7:03am

Version is 1.3.0

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Undead Horses now benefit from Sorcery Perks like vanilla Zombies and Demon Followers do.

  • Wight horses should no longer cast any shadows or at the minimum have very few shadows, just like other Wights found around the map.

  • Darkened the hair on the Wight horses to make it blend in better with the rest of the horse.

  • Fixed the opacity on the saddle/blanket on the Wight horses so that it will correctly show it as torn up instead of one solid shape.

  • Removed the ability to farm Raw Ash and Fragments of Power in the Dark Stable. This was a legacy feature from before I updated the mod to fully utilize the Sorcery system. This is the next step in the eventual full removal of the Dark Stable.

Additions
  • Added another Ghost Horse variant. This also does Mending like the original Ghost Horse. It is simply a different mesh to offer a different look for the Ghost Horse. Instead of the "Undead" model, it uses the base horse Skeleton Mesh but in Ghost form.

  • Added 3 Ghost Saddles to craft. These Saddles are simply the Warhose, Scout, and Savage in Ghost material form. They are made on the Reanimation Circle and are learned via the same feats as the Undead Horses. They currently do not offer anything different then their vanilla counterparts, but that may change over time.

Update: 21 Aug, 2023 @ 4:45pm

Version is 1.2.0

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Fixed the issue with 2 sets of hairs showing up on the Undead Horses

  • The Hair on the Undead Horses should now hide based on the type of saddle used, just like with vanilla horses

  • Horse genitalia should no longer show on any of the horses in this mod. It just doesn't fit the theme for an Undead horse.

  • The Undead Horse mesh has been updated to better fit saddles and to have less clipping. There will still be some clipping, and will vary from saddle to saddle, but there should be much less clipping then before.

  • Some minor storage optimizations with use of the Skeleton Mesh for the various Undead Horses.

  • Normal Undead Horse now does less physical damage but performs diseased attacks.

  • Dark Stables has been removed as a recipe and can no longer create Undead Horses as the method to acquire the Undead Horses have changed (see below in the Additons section). It has been left in for the time being so players may continue to use it for creating Ash if they so choose, but at some point in the future it will be fully removed.

  • The Experimentation and Results books have been renamed and changed. Book 1 contains updated notes, and Book 2 is empty for the time being and players may use it as they wish.

  • Undead Horses now perform Diseased attacks.

  • The Heart of a Hero has been exchanged for Abysmal Flesh in the diet for the Undead Horses.

Additions
  • Added a Blue Wight Horse. The horse will perform Spectral damage when attacking

  • Added a Ghost Horse. The horse will clear Corruption.

  • Added a Reanimation Circle. This replaces the Dark Stables as the method to summon the Undead Horses. Sacrificing horses to use their corpse is now a recipe requirement. Players may either kill a live horse to acquire the corpse. Or they may create a horse, don't place it down in the world, and bring it to the Reanimation Circle where they made access available recipes to sacrifice the Horse on the Reanimation Circle itself. As with all other things in Sorcery in the Conan universe, that is the price of power.

Acquiring the various recipes are the same as before. Once Shallow Grave and Raise Dead are learned, so will the recipe for the Reanimation Circle and all the Undead Horse variants.

Update: 7 Jul, 2023 @ 8:03pm

Version is 1.1.11

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
There were several stat changes across the board, as you will read below. Most (if not all) of the stat changes will require raising a new Undead Horse to see the changes.
  • increased the health value of the Undead Horse to something closer to a normal Horse since the latest version of the game buffed Horse health.

  • All stat values have been given minor buffs. We are talking 1%-5% changes. The Undead Horse(s) will run a smidge faster, have a smidge more health, have a smidge more stamina, etc. While I wanted to give the Undead Horse more uses since it requires more steps to acquire, I didn't want to make normal horses completely redundent either. Therefore, yes, the Undead Horse will be slightly "better" all around, but not so much where its going to make them mandatory to use over their vanilla counterparts.

  • Undead horses now do small amounts more damage in combat then normal horses

  • Updated the diet for the Undead Horse. Abysmal Flesh is no longer a diet option and has been changed out by Coal. Abysmal Flesh still plays a roll, however. See the additions section of the Change Notes.

  • Removed a Data Table no longer in use.

  • Changed the perks the Undead Horse can get. Technically its the same attribute bonuses as before, but the names of the Perks better fit the Undead Horse now. This will only take affect on newly raised Undead Horses.

  • Perks floors on the Undead Horse have been risen slightly to give a small increase chance at getting higher attribute bonuses on acquiring them.

  • Added fly particle effects around the Undead Horse (credit to Xevyr for the idea).

  • Updated the Crafting Station to correctly show the intended base texture in the UI (where it shows the basic recipe requirements).

  • Changed a mod requirement for this mod. Undead Horse Mount Mod now requires my Mount Combat Restored (MCR) as MCR contains combat fixes for mounts.

  • Various recipe changes.

  • The Dark Stables is now learned via the Sorcery system. It is auto learned when gaining the recipe for the Shallow Grave.

There are two reasons for this change. It was always my intention from the beginning to have the Undead Horse be part of any sort of future Sorcery system. I just am finally getting around to doing it. This can be considered pass 1, I may do more or alter it further as time goes on.

The second reason is that this allows for the most flexibility in terms of learning this feat on any map. Whether is Exile Lands, Siptah, or a modded map, so long as their isn't another mod completely removing the Sorcery system, the feat can be learned by anybody. This is what's best for me as well as it requires the lowest amount of maintenance in trying to make it compatible with the many new modded maps out there. While I understand that some players liked the challenge of defeating an Undead boss to discover the recipe, this is a change I feel is best and necessary for this mod.

The old feat has been removed. Players will need to discover it via the Sorcery system.

  • Various icon updates

  • Mod rebranded to Undead Horse Mounts (UHM for short)

Additions
  • Added 4 new Undead Horse variants in the form of Wight Horses. These are Grey (Translucent), Green, Red, and Yellow in color. Each require conditions in order to acquire them with various levels of success (much like how Elite Pets work). Each also have their own combat traits when fighting:

    • Grey does Sunder damage
    • Green does Poison damage
    • Red does Bleed damage
    • Yellow does Acidic damage

Currently they all have the same stats or possible stats via perks. This may change over time, but I haven't decided on that yet.

  • 2 Placeable Books have been added. Their long descriptions (when clicking on Info, or when placing them down as a placeable and viewing the already inserted text) contain different recipes and what their results are for each type of Horse.
