Update: 11 Jan, 2021 @ 10:17pm

Pickup Gun now has a radial menu. Hold R to activate it. From there you can toggle Terrain Collision mode, and the new Pickup Internal Pipes and Wires mode.
- PIPAW mode will pick up only the internal pipes and wires and leave the host structure. Should work with S+ and most of its spinoffs.
- If the Pickup gun is in the regular pickup mode, it will still pick up the internal parts before picking up the main structure.

Demolish Gun will now demolish internal pipes and wires when demolishing a structure, so you get resources back.

The Paint Brush and Paint Sprayer now use the same controls in Singleplayer as they do on Dedicated. The range of the Paint Sprayer is now increased on SP to match the range on dedicated, as well. Thanks to Orionsun's newest open source release, for the solution.

Fixed the GPS and Compass so they can be used while flying/falling now (including Cheat Fly)

Update: 29 Dec, 2020 @ 9:42pm

Fixed Gamepad functionality on the Selector that broke after today's previous update

Fixed an issue when loading presets on the Command Tool and Remote Tool

Update: 29 Dec, 2020 @ 3:11pm

Command Tool
- Added a Claim Baby option to the Command Tool. It will attempt to claim an unclaimed baby dino, and will then apply any other selected dino settings immediately after. It suppresses the naming prompt, but you can set a dino name in the tool to automatically be applied after claiming.

Compass/GPS
- Adjusted the coordinates, elevation, and degrees text to be slightly larger to help readability.
- Fixed Compass and GPS so they will remove themselves from the HUD if they are removed from player inventory, as intended.
- Fixed Compass and GPS HUD so it stays at the top of the screen if the game UI is scaled down. Thanks to Quellcrest for the bug report and the tips on how to fix it.
- Compass and GPS can now be in the Selector menu.

Selector
- Fixed Selector to handle mod items like the Awesome Spyglass. Hopefully this will prevent situations where you can no longer interact with the game when equipping those items from the Selector.

Pickup Gun
- Visual fix. If you pick up a structure that has been swapped to a variant appearance, you will no longer see destroyed chunks.

UI
- Menus on my tools will no longer scale with the game's UI scale setting, to improve readability issues. (I always forget UI scale is a thing)
- Fixed issue with several tool menus. Holding R too long would cause them to open and then immediately close.

Update: 22 Dec, 2020 @ 12:17pm

Paint Sprayer can now spawn 10 dye at a time by right-clicking the buttons in the Dye Menu

Added search filter to Inventory Assistant

Added ini option to allow additional structure restrictions on the Pickup/Demolish guns.
AdditionalStructurePreventPickup=

See the relevant discussion for instructions on how to use the new ini

Update: 17 Dec, 2020 @ 8:20pm

Added Compass, GPS, and handheld Dino Scanner

Compass - Use item from inventory or hotbar to add a compass heading to your HUD. Use again to disable. Same level and cost requirements as vanilla compass.

GPS - Same as compass, but includes Latitude, Longitude, and Elevation. Same level and cost requirements as vanilla GPS.

Dino Scanner - similar to the new S+ Omni Tool's Dino Scanning mode, but is actually based on the original S+ Transmitter's Dino Scanner. Includes Elevation for each dino, so it's easier to find them on more vertical maps like Aberration (when using my new GPS). Requires level 60 and costs 1 vanilla Tek Transmitter to craft.

New ini options:
AdminOnlyDinoScan=true - makes Dino Scanner only work for server admins
DisableDinoScanDetails=true - hides the coordinate and elevation info of the dinos
DisableDinoScanMap=true - disables the Dino Scanner map
DisableElevationOffset=true - disables map-specific custom elevation offsets

Changes:
- UT PaintSprayer no longer requires the vanilla SprayPainter engram, but now costs 30 engram points.
- UT PaintBrush no longer requires the vanilla Paintbrush, but now costs 3 engram points.
Pickup/Demo guns can now pick up and demolish the S+ and SS Ocean Foundations. Ocean Platforms will still be ignored.

Fixes:
Pickup and Demo guns can now Pickup and Demolish the SuperStructures Ocean Foundations. They will continue ignoring Ocean Platforms

Update: 3 Sep, 2020 @ 1:11pm

Small update to fix broken new icon on Pressure Washer

Update: 1 Sep, 2020 @ 2:32am

- Fixed/added TransferResourceAdditions ini (related to Transfer Tool)
- Euthanasia Gun can no longer kill mission dinos
- Pressure Washer now uses the Super Soaker model
- Code improvements for Pressure Washer and Paint Scraper
- Transfer Tool, Remote Control, and Inventory Assistant can now be colored
- Another polish pass on all tool UIs. Learning as I go here.

Selector can now show item quality
- I will eventually make it show an item's color if painted, once I have simplified some code first.

Announcement: I am releasing a Beta branch of the mod soon, which will be used to test a new tool called the Building Tool (super creative, I know).

The Building Tool is aimed at improving and streamlining the Ark building experience. It is the most complex thing I've built so far. Due to its interactions with other mods and its potential to delete items or structures if it has bugs, I wanted to release a Beta first, so people can test it and find things I may have missed.

I recommend not running Useful Tools - Beta on a public server. Feel free to use your friends as guinea pigs on your friends-only server though.

Update: 13 Aug, 2020 @ 12:11am

First of all, I have a Discord server now. Stop in and say hi, or join to receive announcements about upcoming releases.

Remote Control:
Expanded the Remote's capabilities. It can now adjust 8 different structure settings. Before anyone asks: Structure Naming and Pin Code setting currently seem impossible to do, and are not included. I am also unable to do the advanced targeting settings. It will apply the three basic turret settings to any vanilla, s+, or SS turret.

It will obey Locks & Pin Code governance settings, and only Tribe Admins can set Ranks with the tool.

It no longer cycles between Activate/Deactivate/Door modes. Press R to open/close the new menu.

Command Tool:
- Command Tool can now set Dino Inventory Rank, Riding Rank, and Order Rank (if the player is a Tribe Admin)
- Command Tool will now respect rank, and players with insufficient Pet Order Rank will be unable to apply dino settings.
- Command Tool will now mention the name or species of the dino it applied settings to.

The Command Tool menu and the new Remote Tool menus will now work better with gamepads (it will skip over Inactive or Unavailable buttons).

Update: 4 Aug, 2020 @ 12:08am

Fixed the Selector UI so gamepads can work with it again.

Replaced the tooltips on the Dye Menu with labels, to solve a visual bug.

Update: 3 Aug, 2020 @ 6:58pm

Polish pass for Selector, Paint tools, and Command Tool

Selector
- Centered the UI so it works better with different UI scale settings.
- Gave the menu a background so it shows up better in bright environments
- Simplified some of the coding for easier updating in the future
- Can now close the UI with the same hotkey that opened it
- It can now display zero quantity for stacked items if you use them up

Paintbrush/Paint Sprayer
- Centered the UI to work better with different UI scales, and gave it a background so it looks nicer
- Can now close the UI with R key
- Simplified the Dye Menu code

Command Tool
- Added several dino settings to the menu. If I find any more (or more get added by Wildcard) it will take time to add them because I will need to figure out a good way to present them all. It is already feeling pretty cluttered with the new additions.
- There is a new option to automatically add M or F to a dino name, when naming them. It will add M for males and F for females.
- Visual tweaks to the UI
- It can now be colored
