2.0 Major Release

Balance Changes

  • Onslaught DMG bonus vs Blighted/Bleeding no longer scales with level. Values have been set to the level 5 values from the previous patch. (This was to prevent double scaling which made the skill notably much much worse at lower levels.)
  • Venomous Aura party blight skill chance reduced from +30% -> +20%.
  • Venomous Aura party blight resist buff removed.
  • Venomous Aura now gives a party buff of +33% blight amount. (This small rework aims to make the skill more useful to blight based teams, which often didn't have a use for the resistance bonus, and also set it apart from a similar skill on the Shieldbreaker.)
  • Venom Rune -bleed skill chance downside removed. (Using a bleed skill whilst your blight skills were already buffed by +30% with a trinket was already a severe opportunity cost. This change aims to make using bleed skills with the trinket less punishing in instances where you would run into blight immune enemies.)
  • Thunder Rune melee acc downside reduced from -8 to -5 (Although +3 SPD is a lot and warrants a significant downside, -8 ACC hamstrung melee skills a little too much. This aims to address that whilst still keeping the downside as a notable feature of the trinket.)
  • Masterwork Rune max hp downside reduced from -15% HP to -10% (Although a downside on this trinket is warranted as it is quite potent, 15% HP was a little much. This buff should balance the upsides and downsides a little bit more whilst still keeping the main theme of the trinket intact.)
  • Crystalline Rune downsides of -bleed/blight chance when bandage/anti-venom not in inventory have been removed.
  • Crystalline Rune shard cost reduced from 80 -> 33 (The Crystalline Rune turned out to be a surprisingly disappointing trinket for its cost and conditions. Using 1 trinket slot for extra blight or bleed dmg was good, but often required you to spend another trinket on blight or bleed skill chance. Having such a severe downside was needlessly punishing when just losing the benefits was enough. Further, the trinket was not really strong enough to be worth 80 shards, and as such has been adjusted accordingly.)
  • Hatched Egg PROT buff removed and replaced with a +10 ACC buff.
  • Hatched Egg DMG bonus buffed from +15% to +20%. (A big issue with Prince's CC Egg trinket was that it was often overshadowed by the Masterwork Rune. PROT is nice, but the Prince is not usually trying to be a facetank. Replacing the PROT with ACC and increasing the DMG bonus should help it feel like a much more relevant late game trinket.)

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Masterwork Rune DMG bonus was not being applied correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where Hatched Egg DMG bonus was not applied correctly.
  • Fixed a notable crashing issues affecting many users due to a code fragment impacting the CoM trinket wagon which was accidentally left in.

Misc Changes

  • Localization files have been combined into a single file
  • All sprites have been compressed. This will have no visual or gameplay changes, but reduces file size from 14.628 mB -> 4.986 mB, reducing load times and memory usage.
  • All trinkets in the mod have been given a limit of 1 to reduce trinket bloat. If you had more than 1 trinket before this patch, you will still keep any duplicates but won't be able to get any more.
  • Upgraded steam description with cleaner combat icons and added section on camp skills.
  • This mod no longer requires the CoM or Crimson Court DLC to function, and as such has had those requirements removed.

  • Fixed Slane's skin changing the color of the sash in his walking animation
  • Changed buffs/debuffs to be per-round instead of per-turn, so enemies with multiple turns are still affected for the same number of rounds

1.1 Crimson Court + Colour of Madness Trinkets

His Crimson Court set brings the Prince's dearest items, telling a story of his dreams and legacy.
The Crystalline Rune, on the other hand, is imbued with powers previously unseen.

List of Changes:
  • 3 New DLC Trinkets!
    • Crimson Court:
      • Tainted Satin Handkerchief: A handkerchief kept close to the Prince, a memoir of a destined union amid a nest of satin. +13% Deathblow Resist, +3 SPD, -10% Stress, -20% Blight Resist
      • The Hatched Egg: Proof in the prospect of a new era. +15% Damage, +20% PROT
      • Set bonus: +25% Blight Skill Chance, +25% Bleed Skill Chance
    • Colour of Madness:
      • Crystalline Rune: A previously unseen rune, materializing from the crystal's reflections.
        +25% Blight Amount when Antivenom in inventory
        +50% Bleed Amount when Bandage in Inventory
        -20% Blight Skill Chance when Antivenom NOT in inventory
        -20% Bleed Skill Chance when Bandage NOT in inventory

1.0 Release!

Huge thanks to Retrograded for writing the barks, QA testing, general feedback, and much more!

This huge patch brings the mod out of its "work in progress" state. It includes all the unfinished barks, graphics (camp skills, equipment icons, alternate colour swap), and various changes to make the mod more "finished".

List of Changes:
  • Barks are now complete, filled to the brim with the Red Prince's attitude. Go get him afflicted or something, its fun.
  • Graphical updates:
    • Slane the Winter Dragon is now a colour swap! He's colour number 2.
    • Camp skill icons are now their own icons! Inspired by DOS 2's skill icons.
    • Weapon and armour icons are here! From a knife on a stick to the legendary Viper's Tongue.
    • Virtue image is now cropped properly!
  • Balance changes:
    • Buffed Demonic Stare. Buff/Debuff skills are often overlooked, and we wanted this to feel strong and satisfying to use.
      • + Increased SPD Debuff (-5 at max -> -8 at max)
      • + Increased SPD Buff duration (2 rounds -> 4 rounds)
      • - Reduced damage (-50% mod -> -70% mod)
    • Changed Bull Rush. It's now a good single target bleed skill that can hit rank 3 but moves the prince forward.
      • Changed targets (1&2 -> 1 or 2 or 3)
      • Increased damage (-50% mod -> 0% mod)
  • Miscellaneous changes:
    • Now is non-religious. Take that, Zorl-Stissa.
    • On crit receives +15% bonus chance to blight and bleed. Previously it was +15% PROT, but this makes more sense for his role on the battlefield.
    • Removed giving all of his trinkets at the beginning of a run (was for testing purposes)
    • Removed changing initial PD to a Prince hero (testing purposes)
    • Now spawns with 4 skills unlocked instead of 7 (testing)
