v2.2

Steamy Update

Another Nox update containing some various QoL changes!

Cosmetic Changes:

-Another round of animation improvements were made to lots of Nox's moves, which include things such as smear frames on most of his normals, and some added flair and visual effects on certain moves as well.

Balance Changes:

-Adjusted the placement and size of FTILT's sweetspot so that the sourspot doesn't overtake it.
-Decreased the lifetime on both of FTILT's hitboxes.
-Adjusted the movement of DTILT.
-Increased the size of DTILT's sourspot.
-Adjusted the shape of DTILT's sweetspot from a circle to a rectangle.
-UTILT's final hits have been slightly increased in both size and hitpause.
-NAIR's first hit now has an Angle Flipper of 3 instead of 9.
-The positions of FAIR's hitboxes have been adjusted.
-FAIR's final hitbox is now slightly bigger.
-FAIR's hurtbox has been adjusted to match it's new animation changes.
-Adjusted more VFX shenanigans across the board.


There might be another patch fairly soon, just saying lol, and I'm only writing that because I have a history of saying "Oh, this is the last patch for awhile," only for me to find stuff I want to adjust immediately afterwards.

v2.1

Particle Effects Update

This is pretty much a hotfix of the previous patch, with a few more animation touch-ups that I felt like throwing in.

Cosmetic Changes:

-Even more animation improvements! Notably DTILT, UTILT, NAIR, FSPECIAL, DSPECIAL, & TAUNT!
-Even more changes to color palettes!
-Wrastor's VFX were removed, as some had suggested that they appeared to be out of place on Nox's default palette.

Balance Changes:

-DTILT now has 3 additional frames of startup.
-DATTACK's hitpause has been decreased.
-DSPECIAL's hurtbox during the counter phase is bigger.

Now unless I ultimately end up to be lying again, this will probably be the last patch for awhile, even though I literally say that every time. Enjoy!

v2.0

Summer's End Update

Introducing one of Nox's biggest updates yet! I may have spent a little too much time on creating this update, but Nox is now more stylish and polished than ever before!

Cosmetic Changes:

-Lots of Nox's animations have received various visual improvements, such as his dash, his strongs, some of his specials, and more!
-Many of Nox's Color Swaps have either been adjusted or remade completely!
-Made various adjustments in both the sound and visual effects departments.
-Adjusted Nox's CSS icon.
-Rewrote some of Nox's Information Boxes on the CSS.
-Implemented additional easter eggs.


Balance Changes:

-Nox now has a Final Smash! Team up with Stryx, the Last Owl, to send your opponents away! This attack is even more powerful if Swift Mode is active!
-JAB 1 and 2 both have a force flinch value of 1, and angles of 70 when hitting airborne opponens.
-FTILT's sweetspot is smaller, but has more knockback scaling.
-Adjusted the VFX offset for FTILT's sweetspot.
-DTILT's sweetspot is a little easier to hit, and the VFX offset has been adjusted.
-Adjusted how UTILT's first middle hitbox connects.
-UAIR's damage on the first hit has been increased. (2 -> 3)
-UAIR now has 1 additional frame of landing lag.
-Fixed some code in regards to BAIR and NAIR.
-DSTRONG's angles have been adjusted (Front: 43-> 45. Back: 137 -> 135)
-FSTRONG's hurtbox has been adjusted to match the new sprites.
-FSPECIAL's grab hitbox now does more damage during Swift Mode.
-USPECIAL's recovery time has been reduced (120 -> 105).
-USPECIAL's Super Armor time has also been reduced (20 -> 15).
-USPECIAL now has a cooldown when using other Shadow Core moves. Worry not, as it is incredibly short compared to the rest of the move cooldowns.


This update really should've came out a few days ago, weeks even, but I wanted to be ABSOLUTELY sure this time that I got everything, so this is really will be one of the last patches for quite some time. That said, thank you for continuing to play Nox to this day, I'll see you some time down the road!

v1.11

Loose Hotfix

I just wanted to release one more patch before I stop updating Nox for quite some time. This update doesn't include that many changes, but here they are. It's pretty much just stuff that I forgot to include in the previous patch.

Balance Changes:
-FTILT & UTILT have less startup
-DSTRONG has increased hitpause
-Adjusted the VFX placement of BAIR


This is pretty much going to be it for awhile in terms of updates, because I am satisfied with where Nox is right now. That said, thanks so much to everyone who has been providing feedback, and for continuing to play Nox to this day! Now, if you will all excuse me, I'm going to go fall off the face of Aether for awhile... until my next character is ready.

v1.10

Tenth Patch

With this patch, I decided to go a little further with adjusting visual effects depending on whether or not Swift Mode is active, and I ended up changing most of them around to new ones.

Balance Changes:
-Many of Nox's visual hit effects have been adjusted. As stated, lots of attacks now receive different visual hit effects depending on whether or not Swift Mode is on or off.
-JAB 1 & 2 now deal additional damage during Swift Mode.
-JAB 3's Swift Mode damage has been decreased by 1%.
-The damage on UAIR's first hit has been decreased by 1%.
-UAIR now has more base knockback.
-The default distance that NSPECIAL's projectile travel has been reduced. It still travels further when Swift Mode is active.
-FSPECIAL's grab range has been slightly decreased.

Cosmetic Changes:
-Even more of Nox's costumes now come with their own new victory themes!

Aaand just insert the usual wrap up message.

v1.9

Ninth Patch

So apparently I missed a few other things from the previous patch, along with other stuff that I decided to add in, so this one aims to fix that stuff.

Balance Changes:
-FSTRONG & USTRONG's multihits now have more hitpause.
-FSTRONG & USTRONG's knockback scaling has been reduced.
-DTILT's sweetspot now launches at angle 40 and is slightly less obnoxious.
-BAIR now has increased startup.
-The knockback of DSPECIAL's counter attack has been reduced.
-When Swift Mode is active, the final hits of UAIR and DAIR will receive different visual effects.

Cosmetic Changes:
-Three of Nox's palette swaps now have their own victory themes! Can you find which ones they are?

v1.8

Eighth Patch

So apparently I missed a few other things from the previous patch, so this one aims to fix that stuff.

Changes:
-Adjusted the position of UAIR's first hit.
-Reduced FSTRONG & USTRONG's Swift Mode knockback.
-Reworked DTILT's hitboxes.
-Nox now stops in place during DTILT just as his attack comes out.
-Slightly reduced the knockback scaling on all of DTILT's hitboxes.
-Added Boxing Ring support.
-Added Henry Stickmin support.
-Updated Nox's preview artwork.

v1.7

Seventh Patch

Snolid Ice told me to change the angle of DTILT sweetspot to a multiple of 5, so that's what I did. I also tried to fix any other nooks and crannies from the previous patch and implement them into this one.

Balance Changes:
-DTILT sweetspot is now angle 35.
-The lifetime of DTILT's sweetspot has been decreased (2 -> 1).
-JAB 1 now has a Force Flinch value of 1.
-Both JAB 1 & 2 now have earlier cancel frames (4 -> 3).
-Increased UTILT's knockback scaling (.65 -> .8).
-Adjusted the size of DATTACK's hitboxes.
-Slightly repositioned DATTACK's hitboxes.
-DATTACK's hitbox shapes have been changed from rounded rectangles to circles.
-Decreased the lifetime & size of UAIR's first hit.
-Changed the shape of UAIR's second hitbox from a rounded rectangle to a circle.
-The overall knockback of BAIR's sweetspots have been decreased.
-FSPECIAL's finisher now comes out 1 frame sooner.
-Upgraded the visuals of FSPECIAlL's finishing sprite.
-Decreased FSPECIAL's Swift Mode knockback.
-Decreased the hitpause of FSPECIAlL's finishing hit, excluding Swift Mode.
-When FSPECIAIL connects, it now shortly locks out Nox's other Shadow Core moves, just like how the other ones normally would. This does not happen when Nox whiffs FSPECIAL.
-Adjusted Nox's air speed stats.

v1.6

Sixth Patch

Forward Air was apparently busted, so this patch contains changes that should fix a lot of that, but it also contains lots of changes for other moves and stats as well.

FAIR Changes:
-FAIR can no longer combo into itself at 0%.
-Increased the speed of FAIR's attack window
-Increased the hitpause of FAIR's multihits
-Increased FAIR's landing lag (5 -> 7)
-Decreased all of FAIR's hitbox sizes
-FAIR now has 1 additional frame of startup
-Reverted FAIR's multihits back to Angle Flipper 10
-Decreased the damage on the final hit of FAIR (4 -> 3)
-Adjusted the angle of the final hit on FAIR (40 -> 30)
-Slightly decreased the hitpause on the final hit of FAIR
-Overhauled FAIR's knockback values
-Added an extra hitpause value of -2 to the final hit of FAIR
-Decreased the priority values of FAIR

Other Balance Changes:
-Increased damage on the first hit of NAIR (1 -> 2).
-Decreased Nox's default max air speed and his aerial acceleration, these changes also apply to Swift Mode.
-Increased the damage on the first hit of DAIR (1 ->2).
-Decreased the lifetime for all of DAIR's hitboxes.
-Increased Nox's knockback multiplier to be equal to Wrastor's (1.15 -> 1.2).
-Added Extended Parry Stun to NSPECIAL's projectile.
-Slightly increased NSPECIAL's cooldown time. This also applies to how long it gets locked out when a Strong Attack is used.
-Decreased the speed of NSPECIAL's projectile (except for when Swift Mode is active).
-Decreased the size and lifetime of UAIR's second hitbox.
-Repositioned BAIR's back hitboxes to be a little lower than before.
-Decreased FTILT's endlag.
-Adjusted the angle of DTILT's sweetspot (40 -> 37).

Misc:
-Gave Kirby a voice line during copied NSPECIAL because why not.


So this patch was really big, much bigger than i had originally anticipated, and it's also probably going to be the last patch for a long while, but hopefully these changes will improve your experiences with the character!

v1.5

Fifth Patch

This quick patch has a few more changes based on feedback I have receieved, and just some other things that I wanted to change.

Balance Changes:
-FSPECIAL has been given a very small speed boost in Nox's normal state.
-When Swift Mode is active, FSPECIAL becomes faster! This means that although the grab won't last as long, Nox will travel faster and just a bit further than usual, so it's great for catching your opponents off guard.
-FAIR's hitbox sizes have been decreased.
-FAIR's multihits are now overrided by Angle Flipper 9 instead of 10. This makes the move connect much more consistently than ever.
-The first middle hit of UTILT now connects more consistently into the second hit.
-Decreased the size of the multihits on FSTRONG & USTRONG.
-Adjusted the positions of the final hits on FSTRONG & USTRONG.
-Adjusted the positions of the multihits on FSTRONG.

Misc:
-Gave Kirby a voice line during copied NSPECIAL because why not.
