v2.3

This time I took to the Extended Workshop discord for a couple changes.

  • Hitbox Adjustment increased from 0.9 to 1.1, so now he isn't such a heavy plush anymore.
  • FStrong's active frames adjusted to now be frame 18-21, and knockback scaling decreased from 1.6 to 1.
  • UStrong's knockback scaling decreased from 1.6 to 1.05, and base knockback increased from 8.5 to 9.
  • DStrong's active frames adjusted to now be frame 20-23, angle changed from 361 to 60, angle flipper 6 now applied (Horizontal knockback will now send away from Sackboy), knockback scaling decreased from 1.5 to 1.1, and base knockback increased from 7 to 9.
  • Dash Attack's ending window frames decreased from 21 to 18 and knockback scaling on the final hitbox increased from 0.5 to 0.7.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a Sackboy buff!

  • Forward Air's hitbox width increased from 37 to 47, base knockback increased from 6 to 7, angle changed from 50 to 45, second window length increased from 2 to 4, and attack window length increased from 5 to 7.
  • Back Air's third window vspeed changed from -2 to -3, third window hspeed changed from 10 to 8, the base knockback from the Pumpinator's air blast increased from 8 to 9, and that same air blast's knockback scale increased from 0.6 to 0.8.
  • Neutral Air's hitbox lifetime increased from 4 to 5, hitbox width increased from 41 to 42, height decreased from 47 to 45, the x of the hitbox changed from 4 to 1, angle changed from 70 45, and the first window's length increased from 4 to 6.
  • Up Air's third hitbox(the final one where Sackboy is holding the cake)'s width increased from 26 to 30, and height increased from 25 to 30.
  • Both of Jab's hitbox angles changed to 361
  • Downstrong's explosion hitbox x changed from 0 to 5, and angle changed from 60 to 361.
  • Forward Strong's hitbox lifetime increased from 3 to 4.

    Sackboy now has the following workshop compatibilities:
  • Kirby Fighters Buddy
  • Snake
  • Loadent
  • Greenwood Town
  • Demopan
  • and a new Miiverse post

This is an incredibly small update for Sackboy. It's mostly moving rune code around to be slightly more efficient. Although Sackboy's victory theme has now been extended so it won't immediately cut to the results theme as soon as the song ends.

These are the changes made to Sackboy himself:

  • When Rune B is activated, Dash Attack no longer stops when going off the ledge.
  • Forward Tilt's knockback scaling from the first hitbox increased from 0.8 to 0.9, and the second hitbox increased from 0.6 to 0.8.
  • Up Tilt has added whifflag and will actually make Sackboy jump into the air a little.
  • Down Air's sweet spot knockback scaling increased from 0.7 to 1.1.
  • Forward Strong's knockback scaling increased from 0.8 to 1.6.
  • Up Strong's knockback scaling increased from 0.9 to 1.5.
  • Down Strong's knockback scaling increased from 1 to 1.5 and hitpause scaling increased from 0.65 to 0.75.
  • The electric projectile from Forward Special and the circuitboard from Down Special have increased their extra hitpause from 16 to 20, and their base knockback decreased from 5 to 4.
  • The circuitboard from Down Special's damage has increased from 5 to 7.

  • Sackboy gained a new rune: J. When activated, the taunt will have hitboxes.

    And Sackboy now has the following workshop compatibilities:
  • Unregistered Hypercam 2
  • Pit
  • Dr Wily's Castle

These are the changes made to Sackboy himself:

  • Prat Land Time increased from 3 to 6
  • FSpecial now has a cooldown of 45 frames
  • The number of frames Sackboy holds out the Pumpinator in his BAir before firing has increased from 2 frames to 4
  • Hitbox X from FStrong increased from 16 to 18 and Hitbox width increased from 48 to 50
  • Hitbox width and height for DStrong increased from 70 to 75 and 55 to 60 respectively. Hitbox Y position also changed from -16 to -21

    And Sackboy now has the following workshop compatibilities:
  • Dialogue buddy (Only general dialogue for now. Character specific dialogue to come later)

Thanks to various feedback from the comments I have made buffs and nerfs accordingly.

  • Neutral Special now only does 2 damage per paint instead of 3. Kirby's paint projectile does 3 to also compensate.
  • Air Acceleration increased from 0.15 to 0.2.
  • Air Friction increased from 0.2 to 0.35.
  • Knockback Adjustment increased from 0.8 to 0.9
  • Fixed a bug where finishing a match as one of the alts and then changing back to Sackboy keeps the previosuly worn costume in the results screen. Now Sackboy should always change back to normal no matter what.
