You humiliate other people because you get some small amount of pathetic satisfaction out of making other people feel small so you can take the focus off of your own ennui or pathetic life.
You hide behind the pathetic wrote excuse of "It's just a joke, chill."
But the truth is you know exactly how much damage you inflict, you just don't care.
You project the harm you inflict as other peoples fault to assuage the small amount of guilt you might feel when you are tearing another person down by saying things like
"Oh he just needs thicker skin.",
"She's just too sensitive."

But the truth is,
you're just a loser who can think of nothing better to do than make fun of other people.
