Additions
  • Added the One Shot weapon, crafted from The Nine Lives, Souls of Night, and 3 of each mech soul
    - Left clicking uses it as a spinner weapon, which knocks enemies in the direction the player is facing.
    - Right clicking throws out 2 scythes in succession that act as boomerangs, 2 sets can be thrown out at once
    - Essentially a replacement for the Nine Lives weapon, but slightly stronger
    - Receives double the benefits from the Reaper’s List, 4% damage and 2% crit each soul reaped
  • Added Santa’s Explosive Boomstick, a shotgun dropped from the Santa-NK1 or crafted with mechanical scrap
    - Each shot fired creates an explosion at the end of the barrel damaging all enemies within reach
    - Left clicking will fire both barrels in succession, creating a medium sized explosion dealing twice the bullet damage both times, and consuming 1 ammo for each barrel
    - Right clicking will fire both barrels at once, resulting in a larger explosion that deals quadruple the damage of the bullets, has 1.5x knockback, and also double the amount of bullets will be fired. This consumes 2 ammo at once
    - Using the right click function in the air will also propel you backwards
    - Also very satisfying to use ;)
  • Added the Reaper’s List, crafted from A Book, Hellstone bars, and Cracked hearts at an Anvil in a graveyard
    - Every time an enemy is killed it drops a reapable soul, collecting it will increase your damage by % and crit by 1%, up to 9 can be collected at once.
    - The souls will begin to escape one by one after 9 seconds unless another soul is picked up, which resets the timer
    - Any dropped souls not picked up within 9 seconds will also escape
    - This effect used to belong to the Nine Lives weapon, but was moved to its own accessory and tweaked to have souls drop in the world and not be picked up immediately
    - Additionally bosses have a chance to drop a soul when hit, to make this accessory useful during boss fights that have no servants
  • All spinners weapons have a new reflection move. When spinning any of them pressing the right click will a use it to spin faster for a certain amount of time, and during that time they will reflect many projectiles in range. Each has its own reflection window and cooldown
    - Nine Lives: 15 frame reflection window, 2.5 second cooldown
    - Frozen Polestar: 20 frame reflection window, 2 second cooldown
    - One Shot: 25 frame reflection window, 1.5 second cooldown
    - Blazing Star: 30 frame reflection window, 0.5 second cooldown
    - A new buff, Reflection will be applied to the player for the duration of the reflection window
    - Additionally during the reflection window reflectable projectiles will have a particle effect on them
Changes
  • The Nine Lives weapon moved to pre-hardmode, now crafted from 2 Sickles, Hellstone bars, and cracked hearts at an anvil in a graveyard
    - Damage reduced from 50 to 35, the spinner hits less often, and the boomerang blades no longer stay in place upon hitting an enemy
    - Can no longer reap souls by itself, that ability has been moved to the Reaper’s List, which this weapon receives double the benefits from
  • The Bloody Pax pickaxe power increased from 65% to 70%
  • The Frozen Pole star dust and trail visuals updated, and it can hit enemies slightly more often
Bug Fixes
  • The Equinox can now once again receive size modifiers, including legendary

  • Magma Orb Staff now fires much more quickly, the projectiles moves faster, and pierces 4 times instead of twice
  • The Equinox has been resprited
    - The colour of the sword now changes depending on whether the light or dark attack is being used
    - Light Essence visuals have been updated
  • The Frost and Forbidden Sentries now fire faster
  • Bloody Urchin Staff damage increased from 20 to 26, and armour penetration from 8 to 12
  • The Soul blaster projectiles sprite updated
  • The Overloaded Scandrone Sentry projectiles are now fired at a faster speed
  • The Asteroid Staff minion now moves faster when attacking
  • The Blazing Star and the Selenian Blades have new dust effects
    - The Selenian Blades projectiles now move faster

  • Star Invader Staff Sentry damage reduced from 100 to 75
  • The Hemoglobin armour set bonus now summons blood orbs from stuck enemies and not the player.
    - The orbs now float in the air, and slowly head towards nearby enemies.
    - Now has a 3 second cooldown between activations instead of 5 seconds
  • Arid Mask and Greaves crit chance increased from 5% to 6%
  • The Heavy Boots now reduce fall damage by 10 tiles when fast falling
  • The Ancient Scarab dust ring updated
  • The Overloaded Storm Core renamed to Overloaded Storm Coil
    - The Portal now follows the cursor when activated
    - Will only summon lightning if there is a line of sight to the player
    - Lightning portal visuals updated
    - Hiding the accessory will hide the portal when it’s not being used
  • Betsy’s Flame now only summons flames when near enemies, but homing rage greatly increased
    - Flames have a small random delay before they begin homing
    - Sprite and Flame projectiles visuals updated
    - No longer increases player acceleration
  • Celestial Barrier renamed to the Celestial Guardian
    - Sprite Updated
    - Projectile visuals and sprite updated
  • The Painbringer’s core visual projectiles that appear around the player when you can be revived are disabled if the accessory is hidden
  • The Painbringer’s Damage resistance in the final phase has been reduced from 66% to 50%
  • Some animated projectiles now have a trail effect, including many minions and a few pets
  • Fledging Wings now require an anvil to be crafted instead of a workbench
Bug Fixes
  • All projectiles summoned by Armour/Accessories now have the correct “IEntitySource” set, fixing a mod conflict with certain mods that causes a projectile to be spawned every frame due to an internal error
  • The Ancient Scarab now works with true melee weapons
  • Animated projectiles now finally have their glowmasks restored
  • Sword auras should no longer move at the same speed as the previously used item the first time a sword is swung

v2.5.2.3
Added a new configuration option to disable some chat messages created by certain enemies/items, this applies to The Painbringer and Super Pain Dummy
Changes
  • Most minions have had their movement speed increased, as before they had difficulty keeping up with moving enemies.
    - The Frozen Spirit Minion, Santank Minion, and the Temple guardian Minion projectile velocities greatly increased
  • The Soul Flame Minion now summons homing soul flames, and has had the largest speed increase of all minions.
  • The Oil Can now inflicts Oiled for 15-20 second, and onfire for 12-16 seconds, an increase from 12-18 and 10-15 seconds respectively
  • The Overloaded Scandrone portal attack now summons 6 instead of 7 portals in master mode, and only 1 instead of 2 during the last phase.
  • Some of the Painbringer’s attacks have been made fairer.
    - The 3rd attack no longer has the boss charge towards you, it instead orbits around you like the first attack, and the speed it summons projectiles has been slowed down slightly
    - The 5th attacks homing projectile no longer explode on expiry
    - The 7th attack now moves further away from the player, and fires projectiles at a slightly slower rate, however it now has one projectile that will always be fired towards the player
    - The 8th attack now how the boss fly above the player instead of towards them, and the speed of the projectiles has been slightly reduced
    - The Boss now has exactly 600K health on Master mode instead of 630K
    - All attacks on master have slightly fewer projectiles and a slightly slower speed
  • Super Pain Dummies can no longer be summoned if a boss is alive, before they would spawn but immediately despawn
    - When holding Shift or Ctrl while hovering over the Super Pain Dummy item the tooltip line will turn yellow indicating that’s what will be changed

The Dummy will remain in this mod and will always have parity with the standalone version
Changes
  • Updates to the Super Pain Dummy:
    - The Tough, Broken, and Light variant now have an extra attribute which can be changed by Control-Right Clicking
    - For Tough this allows the defence to be toggled between 5, 10, 25, and 50.
    - For Broken, this allows the max life to be toggled between 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, and 50,000
    - For Light, this allows the knockback resistance to be toggled between 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%
    - The text for the variants is now colour coded, both for the variant and whether it’s grounded or floating
    - Updated the Broken Variant Sprite
    - They now have a quote when spawned and despawned, and no longer have a 1 in 500 chance to say a quote

  • The Blade of the Sea, the Coral Blaster, The Tidal Blast, the Whirlpool emblem, and Fisher of the Sea now only require 8 coral instead of 10 to craft

  • The Painbringer hit taunts now play less often

  • The Mini Santank Minion’s bullets are no longer reflected by certain enemies

  • The Pointy Wooden Stick leaf projectile damage reduced from 75% to 40% of the weapon
  • The Wooden Crossbow usetime reduced from 50 to 40, and knockback increased from 2 to 3

  • The Granite Rifle has been renamed to the Granite Blaster, Damage increased from 17 to 22, and usetime reduced from 30 to 28

  • The Heart Piercer usetime reduced from 23 to 12
    - Each stab lowers the accuracy of the spear, up until a 40 degree spread. The accuracy will quickly return to normal when the weapon is not used
  • The Space Bow usetime reduced from 18 to 15
  • The Space Saucer Staff Sentry damage has been reduced from 28 to 18, but the time between it fires has been reduced from 60 to 17, projectile velocity also increased and no longer pierces
  • The Cursed Spear Shotgun damage increased from 24 to 32
  • The Molten Dagger has been renamed to Hell’s Blade
    - It has also been reworked into a terragrim-like weapon, hitting 12 times per second with visual slashes.
    -Damage reduced from 30 to 20, but now has 5 armour penetration
    - Sprite updated
  • The Captain’s Cannon cannonballs now have a spread to them when fired
  • The Staff of the Painbringer and The Paingiver damage class is now cycled by right clicking the weapon in the inventory.
    - Now right clicking with the weapon uses it as a broadsword, with humorous text appearing if you keep attacking enemies with it in that way.
    - Also added a new achievement related to it
  • The Visuals for the Ancient Sandblaster, Cryofreezer, and the Lihzahrd Flamer have been updated
    - The Lihzarhd Flamers flame now slide along the ground instead of ricocheting off
  • The sprites for the Flaming Seed launcher, and the Magma Orb Staff and Sentry sprites have been updated
  • The Shroomite Fury sprite has been slightly tweaked
  • Updated the Ancient Husk’s flamethrower attack visuals
  • Some of The Painbringer’s attacks have been revamped.
    - The 3rd attack now summons projectiles in either a Cross, Star, or hexagonal pattern. And the boss moves directly towards you
    - The 5th attack projectiles now home in towards you instead of remaining in place, the homing is fast but has a slow turning, and the amount of projectiles reduced
    - The 7th attack now creates a different amount of projectiles depending on the difficulty
    - The 8th attack now has the boss firing projectiles directly from it towards the player, and it also moves towards the player
    - The final attack now also summons a ring of projectiles with random spacing from the boss when it finishes its rapid attack
    - Getting hit from any attack has a chance for the boss to taunt you, like it did back in the April fools version, but slightly less often
  • The Mysterious Skull no longer drops from random enemies once the Painbringer has been defeated, but it will still drop from Pain/Clay Slimes
  • The Gnome hat sprite has been updated
    - Also has an achievement related to it
  • The Pizza Delivery Snowman now has a much higher chance to drop pizza
  • The Heartless Soul projectile sprites have been updated
  • The Oil Can buy price has been lowered from 1 silver to 50 copper
  • ThePain and Clayman no longer have text when you get hit, but now they have a female voice for female characters
  • Super Pain dummies now have a flying variant for each variant (Regular Flying variant no longer exists on its own)
    - Shift-Right Clicking toggles between Grounded and Flying
    - All base variants now have unique face when damaged
    - They also turn to face the player
    - Also there’s a 1 in 500 chance for an secret when hit
