Regular Name Update (Major Update)
Known Bugs/Issues:
  • There are a few localization bugs here and there (Currently, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, Germany, and the United States are confirmed to have them), and I haven't found a way to fix them yet. However, the bug's effects are very minimal, so I suggest using the decisions as you would normally.

Community Update Part 2 (Major Update)
Notes:
  • Added country flags for renaming decisions. This was to help countries with multiple puppet states easily locate which country the decision will affect.
  • Fixed the national adjectives for numerous communist countries.
  • Changed ideological name requirements for certain countries.
  • Removed "Reset Cosmetic Tag - ALL" due to bugs.

Known Bugs/Issues:
  • Currently, some countries with decisions don't have a flag icon beside the name, but it shouldn't be anything to worry about since the decision works just fine. I'm currently looking into the problem, but it honestly confuses me a bit, so for now, just ignore the lack of a flag and use the decision as you would.

End of Hiatus + Community Update Part 1 (Major Update + Announcement)

Hello once again! I've finally returned from my trip and really enjoyed every second of it! But now is the time for work, and I've finally gotten around to fixing bugs, adding community-suggested names, and the whole shabang. However, the community name suggestions will come in 2 or 3 parts due to their sheer size (My respect to the users Goopy, ocemccool, Taner.RG and Atomic Enjoyer for their comprehensive name suggestions, I appreciate the thought put into them 😉). Thank you, everyone, for having patience with this mod; I assure you, it will pay off soon :)

Notes:
  • Fixed the civil war requirement for the Austrian Empire. (Bug discovered by Kaiser Paul Franz I.)
  • Added "Reset Cosmetic Tag - ALL" decision which resets the name of EVERY OTHER country on the map. Useful for countries like Great Britain that start the game with puppets and wants to revert the master-to-subject name change.

Mod Development Progress (Minor Update + Announcement)

Hello all! I started this mod a few weeks ago, and I've made significant progress so far. However, I will be going on a vacation for roughly two months, which would separate me from my laptop, stopping me from making changes to the mod while away. I will do my best to keep up with the mod support (i.e., the comment section and discussion threads) and officially resume development once I return from my trip. As for now, I hope you all enjoy the mod in its current state, and even though it may be incomplete, I promise to get back to it once I can :)

  • Added "Reset Cosmetic Tag" decision, which reverses the effects of nation renaming decisions and sets it back to its original version. (This also works with Peahead's original renaming decisions.)

  • Sweden

    (Initially, I planned on adding community-suggested names such as Russia, Romania, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Turkey (Even though it isn't in alphabetical order), but the text program I use to quickly generate the code for me had some issues that needed to be fixed, so I only got around to implementing Sweden.)

Bug Patches (Minor Update)
Notes:
  • Painstakingly fixed the recurring bug involving civil war requirements for all countries. Now, rebelling countries can rename themselves to an appropriate name.
  • Added a few spelling corrections.
Known Bugs/Issues:
  • Rebelling countries can still change the name of the country they are rebelling against during their civil war.

    Temporary Solution: Since the bug itself isn't a significant problem; you could simply avoid using any of the nation renaming decisions; in addition, the rebelling country is restricted to a corresponding civil war name, depending on their ideology ( ex. Worker's Front of ___, Union of ___ Fascists, etc.).

    The problem should resolve itself after winning the civil war, in which case, the rebelling country will now be known as the parent country, and then you can use all the names available to the country.

Bug Patches (Minor Update)
Notes:
  • Fixed a few bugs concerning civil war requirements for multiple countries such as Latvia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Manchukuo, and Mengkukuo. Now, puppets are required to initiate civil wars to change their names.

    ( For those who don't know, if you want to declare independence from an overlord using the generic focus tree, you must initiate a civil war with either fascism or communism and win so that the new country will be independent of the overlord. )


    April 26, 2022 - Yeah apparently there's an entirely new problem implementing this patch, now, ALL names using the "has_civil_wars = yes" command have been rendered unusable, I'll look into it and fix it ASAP.
