2.7 shifts the human body to the right by one pixel to line up with their equipment, makes bismuth bronze items visible, gives more hairstyles to humans, and prevents hair from sticking up past the top of caps

2.6 works on helmet layering. dwarves have many fancy hairstyles that like to stick out from caps and their ears were sticking out from helmets. now their ears no longer stick out. I will work some more on the caps but this is a first step. also messed with the helmets layering of other races particularly goblins

2.2 new shield variations that are only graphical except for the tower shield. each race gets its own shield types and everyone gets the standard round shield

went back to the functional version and fixed artifact display

as of 2.0 this mod adds a few new image files and cuts and pastes the dwarf, human, goblin, elf, and kobold entries in creatures_graphics_layered.txt to use my images instead of the default ones. should be compatible with everything that doesn't also use the dwarf, goblin, elf, or kobold entries in creature graphics, layered

after many hours of editing creatures_graphics_layered this is the result. every dwarven artifact weapon or armor has its own graphic when worn based on the material. many of these are no different than standard dwarven gear but its a baseline to start editing artifact graphics from.
most likely I have made an error or two in the text file somewhere. if your artifact graphics are not displayed properly on your dwarves message me.
