Sorry for not updating this there is a lot of cool stuff to do and another mod I was working on which was gonna be cool but my laptop isn't working right now and I'm busy anyways. If my life situation changes hopefully I will be able to do some revolutionary stuff with df modding.

I should just put out a small update to include portraits for now because the update I am planning is quite large. The new tools included in the adventure mode beta allows for palletizing the skin, hair, and equipment colors, making facial variations based on the description, removing missing body parts from the sprite, and showing scars on the sprite. Even if I can't find a job soon it could still take months to finish.

Thanks, I am planning on doing a large update to this once I publish my dragons mod in a few weeks. With the new adventure update body parts can be removed from the sprite if they are chopped off, I also have a lot more options with appearance modifiers than I did before which I will try to use.

I really like using this mod with Adventure Mode as I really dont like so many artifacts and items being invisible in vanila. I used the tip below to copy creature graphics into your mod file and skip overwriting to make it compatible. I have noticed that all night creatures appear invisible in the world. Their portraits show up, but they dont appear in game. I can still end up fighting them, they are just invisible. Wondering if this is because I did something wrong and if there is a possible. If it is just a bug due to current structure, no issue, I would prefer invisible night creatures to invisible items. I hope nothing else is invisible.

No, changing the mod structure would break current saves, it would also make the mod more stable since I would not have to update the mod for so many DF updates

Also, if you're trying the method I explained in my previous comment, I recommend you copy and the paste the new image graphics for giant surface animals as they've been updated.

good tip, because of the mod structure it has to be updated for every new DF version which has creature graphics. I might change this later but it would break save compatibility.

Guys, if you want to use this mod with adventure mode the way I've done it is by copying the "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\vanilla\vanilla_creatures_graphics\graphics" into "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\installed_mods\more_armor_and_weapons_graphics (35)\graphics" and selecting to skip already existing files. This has worked for me so far but I'm not sure whether you'll need to uninstall the mod and re download it to recieve updates when Naut decides to update this mod properly in the future.

Take the vanilla creature graphics and move it to the left inactive side, not below on the right side active list

Jacko changes creature graphics and adds new equipment that fits them. My equipment graphics fit the vanilla creature tiles. We might use some of each others ideas but the largest parts of our mods are not compatible. It's possible that adventure mode will include graphics improvements that make both mods obsolete though, at least temporarily. For example in the last post it shows their work on procedurally generated faces which match the creature description, unlike Jackos' faces which are random due to current graphics modding limitations.

hmmm do scrolls count as weppons? If so there should be a graphic for people holding scrolls too ngl.

I just discovered a major bug with weapons graphics which was accidentally introduced in the last update which fixed beast graphics. tomorrow a big update will come out which includes a fix and also will make artifact weapons and armor be displayed on your people as well as some minor hood layering changes for dwarves and goblins.

my mod hides heads when a full helm is on so that the ears will not stick out. the vanilla game has an issue where named items and artifacts don't render though, that's where the headless people come from.

can you update this, it is falling behind as they make changes to the vanilla creature graphics files with each update. for example they fixed so creature graphics icons and statues, but this mod still has the old ones.

A good amount of my sprites are lacking heads. So far they seem to be wearing steel helms though all of my military with masterwork steel helms seem to have heads.

It seems all named weapons or shields go invisible after they receive a name, think this is a vanilla problem also, but would be great if there was a fix

I'm not sure how it works internally. Any object can be a position symbol, so maybe it's just not coded in the game (like if the name of the object is changed due to being a position symbol, does the game just not know how to render it? You could test this with artifact clothing items as well).

Dunno if it's a vanilla bug or from this mod, but it seems as if dwarves with position symbol helmets (like if you assign them a helmet from the nobles screen), will have an invisible head.

You know how you get a list of all your mods and you have to pick each one you want each time you generate worlds? You know how all the vanilla asset packages are listed in the same menu? I would assume they mean to disable it there, like any other mod. Not literally go into your files and destroy them

I haven't tried wheelbarrows but so far any non equipment item tag is not recognized

It would have been cool to see the dwarf hold items. Did you try to do it the wheelbarrows work. with the item in the tile in front of them?

I think having graphics for hauled Items is currently impossible since I can't get the game to recognize non equipment items in creatures_graphics_layered. I will put it back in the seemingly impossible Ideas bin with things like clothing color being displayed accurately instead of by profession

the next update will either equipment strapped to the body, hauled items, or better looking ghosts, if I can't find time during the holidays I will do it after new years. for some reason ghosts look like a naked normal human until the save is reloaded but It's a bug with the base game and I'm not sure it's fixable with a mod. I'm leaning towards having graphics for hauled items because it would be cool to see what people are carrying

mostly just the shield types, I added tridents and battle forks because I think they are cool but I haven't assigned them to any civs yet so I assume that they could only be created as a random artifact

no, it also happened in 2.8. I'm fairly sure it's a compatibilty thing, probably between Aeromore and this one what with all the new races and what not while trying to put armor on them.
