Are you scared?

Hello horror fans. Its me! Don't worry I'm alone.

Good news is this update is not only BIG, it also marks the point of no return for this being ~just~ a single player experience. Alot of you sexy people were asking, nay- BEGGING, for me to lean into the horror more.

Ask and ye shall recieve, Bitch.

The bad news is that as much as I would love to gush about the new features, I don't want to spoil anything. So here is the short list:

- New smoker FightBack sounds added for when you are in a full choke, but farther away than arms reach
- d e a d e y e rewards much more than it used to, allowing the player to more often have a much needed reticle
- Are you gonna get that?.
- q u i c k d r a w reward no longer leaves the high pitched adrenaline sound effect on for the whole 30s
- mark.
- Random events will now trigger that add to the mystery and atmosphere
- Many many voice lines (so far only L4D2 cast)
- How do you know my name?
- Fixed the notebook and controls menu resetting cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor outside of the mutation
- Since there is still no way for me to detect what resolution the client is running, I have remade the HUD to default to
1920:1080. Good thing is that in that resolution it is much more clean.

I can't even remeber everything I fixed. Hell I rarely remember working on this mod at all.

Quick fix to a bug introduced in the last update that broke the ability to break free while incapacitated.

THIS IS HOW THE FIGHBACK SYSTEM WORKS NOW:

When pinned by an S.I. a random number in a range is selected for that infected, on the given difficulty. For instance while playing on Night Terror (Advanced) you are pinned by a charger the game will pick between 15 - 25. On Daydream (Easy) the range is 8 - 10. Press mouse2 this many times and you will kill the attacker.

If you are incapacitated by the infected you will now have to press the revive button (if i could i swear i would make them all mouse2, but this one is bound to walk, usually shift). Every time you press the walk button the chosen number goes down by 1. If your big buddy charger started with 12, it drops to 11, 10, etc, every time you press shift. However while incapped every time the charger takes a big boy bite out of you, it goes back up by 4. for a smoker it goes up by 2, a hunter goes up by 1. All these numbers are chosen for balancing.

tl:dr incap fightback now works, and every time youre hurt while down it adds another button mash.

after its dead youll just have to do the usual second wind mash.

COMPLETE MOD SINGULARITY!!!!!
Its official. This mod no longer has a single element that bleeds through to the rest of the game. Alone (TM pending) now more than ever is completely commitment free:

- ALL KEY BINDS REMOVED. Character select keys 5, 6, 7, and 8 are now left completely un touched. New character select by typing names into console OR simply pressing "USE" while aimed at them

- ADMIN PRIVELEGES REVOKED. This mod no longer requires admin system to function. In fact, this being the case means that this mod REQUIRES NO OTHER MODS! Suck on that Rayman

- SAFE QUIT FEATURE. Type "giveup" into the console to quit, or just beat the campaign and any and all crosshairs will be returned to their rightful place at the center of your screen. This, Along with any other oddities, will be reset to your preferences after using SAFEQUIT (TM pending)

- BRAND NEW HUD. Lets face it the old one sucked more balls than a bingo machine. The new improved hud will not only look better, sound better and taste better, it will also work REGARDLESS OF YOUR RESOLUTION!. What a time to be Alone.

- NEW OUTTRO SEQUENCE. Beat a campaign to see it! If you are in search of answers, you may be out of luck. The new HUD, however, might have something to tell you.

TONNES OF NEW PLAYER SOUNDS!!!

I hope youre in the mood for a whole lot of dialogue. Every mode specific event now has dialogue or sounds for it. Made the intro/outtro cleaner too. Full dialogue for every character individually, L4D1 and 2. I also made the controls more responsive, added a new powerup and a huge number of bugs have been fixed.

Havent posted an update in a while. Had to spend some time without my home computer. That reminds me: josh if youre reading this, it IS illegal. Found out the hard way.

- Saferoom outtro fixed
- No more bugs with controls
- Intro audio fixed

Next update will be focusing on aesthetics, and if I get lucky, controls simplification. Woohoo!

THE DOORS UPDATE:
- Added door sorting algorithm. Some maps have weird doors. Fake doors that should be static models but instead are fully functional, fake doors named as real doors, real doors with no name, real doors with missing flags. Well I say [LEGALITY ISSUE] those doors! Seriously I [CRUDE COMMENT] hate these doors. I added a sorting algorithm to sort doors by distance to start, model name and distance to eachother. Now my code for doors should extend to every concievable configuration of 1-4 doors![CITATION PENDING]. No more doors doing a lovely ballerina spin for no god forsaken reason, just some perfect, prestine, WORKING

DOORS.

BRAND NEW SOUND SYSTEM:
Added capability to stop specific sounds from playing. This may not speak too loudly, but sometimes silence speaks volumes. This has enabled much better immersion and ambience, such as:

- New player sounds: Wake, Falling, Fightback, Revive (Most are L4D1 and Hunter, More to come soon though, most of this update was... the doors....)

- New sounds for fighting back from an S.I. pin!
- Sounds for opening the saferoom entrance while at top speed (Door bash), which I will be expanding to a new system that rewards a full tilt sprint into the saferoom
- MANY MORE SOUNDS TO COME(All SI vs all survivors L4D1&2, creepy ambience, dialogue for most special events in main campaign)

BUG FIXES!
- Compatability with custom maps HUGELY increased (thanks door algorithm!)
- No more messed up saferoom scripts
- Custom controls now much more responsive
- Custom sounds now take priority over default sounds
- Survivors wont yell at you to close the door
- Survivors can no longer escape. They are not human in the true sense
- Do not listen to their cries for help

Lots more to come! I want to make the experience of playing Alone feel like the survivors KNOW that they are alone, and understand that the fight to the death will include no help but their own. Many more sounds, Much more creepy ambience and MUCH MORE GRUESOME DEATH SOUNDS FOR SPECIAL INFECTED.
