1.3.1
Updated for 1.16 - added elephantry to the ammo calculations

Update: 2 Mar @ 9:22pm

1.3.0
  • Updated for 1.15 - ammo usage definitions for army and air units are now up to date
  • Ammo usage for air units has been roughly halved - an air force of 1k planes consisting of mostly fighters and CAS will now use around 50k ammo per day
  • Tried to nudge AI towards not having so many planes if they have an ammo shortage
  • AI now has very rudimentary weights for ammo prioritization
    • AI will now prioritize the army if they have Superior Firepower or Mass Assault doctrines, or if they are in an "ammo crisis" (i.e., less than 1 year of ammo remaining in storage)
    • AI will deprioritize the navy if they have a small navy
    • AI will deprioritize the air force if they have no air wings or a small number of small air wings (<100 planes)
    • AI will also deprioritize the air force if they have more than 20,000 planes - at this point, the AI will be spending ~1 million ammo on air wings every day, usually from constantly forming new fighter or CAS wings. To stop the AI from debuffing themselves on the ground, the AI will be forced to prioritize the air force lower than the army.
  • Ammo production multiplier game rule has been renamed, relabeled, and split into separate game rules controlling production for players and for AIs
  • Ammo shortage modifiers now have icons & will now appear in under National Spirits, improving transparency regarding what maluses ammo shortages include
  • Fixed Motorized Artillery accidentally being ignored & Motorized Anti-Air being double-counted for army ammo usage

1.2.0
  • AI countries will now only send ammo donation requests to one player at a time, and cannot send a new request to the same player or a different player until the request has been responded to (AI to AI interactions have not been changed)
  • A player-controlled country rejecting 5 ammo donation requests within a 90-day period will cause all AI countries to stop offering donations to them for 90 days unless if they have less than 1 month of ammo remaining in their stockpile
    • This can be a little finicky when mass rejecting offers. Right-clicking the notification pop-up at the top of the screen can be a little buggy.
    • If you want to reject many offers en masse, the recommended method is to click on all of them to open all of the requests and then hold Esc to reject them all quickly.
  • Reduced base ammo production rates by ~30% (300 -> 200 ammo/day for busy mils, 600 -> 400 ammo/day for idle mils)
  • Added a "difficulty" game rule to give all countries a bonus or malus to ammo production rates, ranging from -20% to +20%
  • The armies of countries using the Superior Firepower doctrine now consume 25% more ammo. This behavior can be disabled by a new game rule
  • The army, navy, and air force now have their own fallback consumption values; mods that change the battalion types should now have improved ammo consumption rates (although proper compatibility patches are still necessary for fine-tuned rates)
  • Army consumption rate fallback has been increased from 200 to 300 ammo/day; if you do not have any mods that add new army battalion/unit types, this should not affect you
  • Updated the Ammunition tooltip description to mention that only undamaged mils produce ammo and to mention that production rates can be unilaterally increased with bonuses to Factory Output (e.g., from Industry research) (this feature was in the mod from launch but was otherwise undocumented)

Update: 23 Feb, 2024 @ 4:32am

1.1.0
Changed the Ammunition text box in the topbar to:
  • Be placed adjacent to the nukes box to avoid blocking the supply info box
  • Be moveable in case the player wishes to adjust its position for their liking or to deconflict with other mods
    • The box seems to be unable to be dragged if clicking and holding on the ammo icon, but should be able to be dragged from anywhere else
