Wolf Portraits (Updated)
Showing 1-6 of 6 entries
Update: 7 Jun @ 11:52am

> Updated for version Phoenix 4.0.16.
> Adjusted the titles for all important files, to hopefully alleviate any future delays with updates due to trying to figure out which "wolf" goes where.
> Due to the adjustments, it's likely the portraits are messed up. Click the portrait in the menu a few times and the issues should resolve.
> I also discovered through testing that the mod was originally uploaded through OneDrive for some stupid reason (fuck you MS), so if there are any issues with the update, please let me know.
> Should there be any issues, an entirely separate version of the mod will be uploaded instead, formally depreciating this version in favour of the one that is not localised to OneDrive.
> Thank you for your patience!

Update: 10 Jul, 2024 @ 3:37pm

> Replaced 98% of the name_list with the MAM2 name list. Change was made due to difficulties with localisation. Leader names will stay the same and they should have not been changed in any way. They should still be select-able as normal, even without localisation.
> Localisation file for the name_list was copied over from the original game files to save me the hassle of having to rewrite everything from the name_list into the localisation file.
> AI will be able to use the portraits in the future. Right now, I am waiting for the devs to release 3.13 and hoping that that doesn't mess everything up again.
> This should be the final update for this mod for the foreseeable future. If any issues arise, please make them known and I will work on a patch for them.

Update: 19 Jun, 2024 @ 5:16pm

> Updated for 3.12.5 checksum 9a6f.
> Provided an override dialogue into the name_list. The name list should now reference names provided in the MAM1 name list. This will act as a temporary fix for current name_list issues that require localisation and base reformatting.
> With the MAM1 name_list override, there should not be any issues with what names your empire uses upon game start. This also means that there should not be any name conflicts for government leaders.
> If you want to remove the override, delete the following dialogue from the name_list: customize_random_override = MAM1
> Localisation coming soon, now that I'm starting to understand how important localisation is.

Update: 13 Jun, 2024 @ 6:24am

> Finally implemented a working name_list for the species. Also finally implemented a working species_names list. You should now be able to randomly generate a species name as well as home planet and star. More names may come in the future, but for now, I am beating myself up over my stupidity.
> With the implementation of a working name_list and species_names, AI will soon be able to utilise the portraits after I add a greater variation to the available planet, star, and species names.
> Removed prior first names (like Armiger, Baron/ess, etc), and took half of the second names and placed them in the first names, allowing for a greater diversity of names. First names are identical for both sexes.
> Created dummy ship and city set classes to alleviate the mod from replacing the mammalian sets with the obnoxious WOLF. These sets currently do not have any assets to reference from and are being used as a mitigating measure until I can get my stupid head to understand how to create a fully separate city and ship set. In the meantime, the original sets the mod was referencing (mammalian sets) should be back to normal.
> Future-planned code name changes may cause issues, only because my amnesiac brain can't remember which version of wolf goes where. This is your prior warning.
> Localisation is slated for the update after the 3.12.5 update.
> Please report any problems to the pinned discussion or in the comments - I check regularly!

Update: 6 Jun, 2024 @ 10:15am

> Updated for 3.12.4 checksum f4eb.
> Updated name_list to contain proper capitalisation instead of all caps. This may have caused slight issues with custom empires that use the name list. In this case, click on the name list a few times, and it should fix itself.
> Modified AI permissions to use portraits from mod. AI should no longer be able to access the portraits (except for custom empires). Change made due to lack of a species_names list that the mod can reference, and if referenced by an AI creating a random empire, the species and empire names are blank.
> Portraits have been modified slightly. If your empire can no longer be played because of a missing portrait, click on the portrait in the menu a few times, and it should fix itself.
> Probably messed around with a few other things. If issues arise, please let me know.

Update: 13 May, 2024 @ 2:49pm
