Update: 15 Mar @ 6:36pm

Integrated water mod settings directly into the planet. Water will be present and properly set upon spawning.

Update: 4 Jan @ 5:49am

Changed ore map to a proper 4096x4096 map, with occlusion (*_add.png) maps. Previous version had a rescaled 2048x2048 map, which made ore deposits very far apart. This was due to the Procedural Ores tools being unable to handle map sizes other than 2048. Keep in mind, though, that ~75% of the planet is covered in water, and so will be most of the ore deposits. You won't have to search entire country sized areas to find a single deposit now, with these changes. The planet does contain all resource types.

I still intend to add major resource deposits in areas that make historical sense, to make for a more strategic game for those who want to play world wars. The changes will not affect the positions of any resource nodes placed in this update. Consider them permanent.

Update: 22 Dec, 2024 @ 8:38am

Swapped map layout to work correctly with both Real Solar System's default orbit direction and with Luna in Infinite's Solar System Pack 1. Solar orbits all move in a counterclockwise rotation, when viewed from Sol's north pole, and the rotation of most planets in our system align with it as well. Infinite got this right, at least in reference to RSS. This will ensure that the moon will look correct when viewed from the surface of the planet from both hemispheres (provided you turn it to face in the right direction and lock its rotation to the same period in RSS).

As a result of these changes, HUD Compass will not work properly, so you'll want to add HUD Compass - Fixed Directions, instead.

This is all due to Space Engineers deciding to arrange their coordinate system such that the north pole of the vanilla planets faces in the Y- direction, rather than Y+, I imagine. Trying to force Echthros to continually answer workshop and discord wHy AxIs MiSaLiGnEd?!?!?!!!11! questions in order to preserve SE's weird arbitrary decisions doesn't seem fair.

Reduced hill params to a more reasonable value. Water Mod settings will need to change to match the new values shown in the description. Reduced the recommended settings for Water Mod to correct for this.

Fixed ore redistribution (sort of?). There might be far more mineral resources than intended. It seems that the Ore Redistribution mod cannot handle 4096 images, so I scaled up the 2048 mat file. That might result in 4x as many resources being present, if I'm right, due to the rescale.

Sorry to the 41 people who have already downloaded this mod. I had no idea more had subscribed when I made these changes. If you haven't gone too deeply into your run or haven't exploited Earth yet, you can fix an existing TerraRedistributed planet using RSS by running the /TSE command, navigating to Earth in the RSS menu, go to Edit Heirarchy, and Recreate Planet. BE AWARE: Doing this will remove the planet entirely from RSS voxel space and recreate it in a different position. Any orbiting, landed or static grids, as well as terrain editing done to the world, will be left floating in space. This is just how RSS works.
