Update Five: Japan Update

The entire localization has been brought up to speed!

Due to the extensive changes VC has gone through, the entire localization has been re-done from scratch

  • A (hopefully) not noticable loss of the deep flavour from earlier updates in exchange for a fully complete, properly updated translation.
  • New Entries, such as Japan or the France extension have recieved care to feature localized names and historical context.
  • More regular updates should follow, now that my exams are all finished up. My plan still stands: Deepen the historical context surrounding the add-ons by Victorian Century to bring the game we all love truly to life!

On parity with Victorian Century, enjoy!

Land of the Dragon!

So Qing's been updated a little, thought I'd keep pace.
  • Incorporated VC's mechanical, localization and syntax changes up to its latest build.
  • Chinese Events and Journal Entries have been completely revised, but not to the degree I'm satisfied with. Expect more work to be done here soon-ish.

Expect mere house-keeping mode, without anything mayor changes, to continue at least till late June/early July.

Update: 6 May @ 9:51am

Keeping up with the Victorians

House keeping done:
  • Incorporated Victorian Centuries new globals/functions for the "European Gateway"-JE. Was there already so I: revised its content with better period matched and much deeper, more precise flavour - spent a bit too long reading about belgiums role in victorian (imperial) politcs - should study some more instead lol.

  • Thanks to MrBlazzar™ I fixed the mssing chinese_royal_court loc-keys, all should be added now!

As mentioned before: I am sadly still busy with my exams! But I've finished the first three of five today and they went relaly well. Though, still: I do not have the time to thoroughly have playtested these improvements, but things shouldnt be broken (hopefully).

Update: 1 May @ 5:37am

Maintenance work and janitor duty!

A small update to address the following:
  • Fixes to the Berlin Conference have been incorportated into the localization; Ensuring updated mechanics and function calls are consistent.

  • Touched up the France's "Journey through the Dark Continent"-Journal Entry. Hopefully improving clarity, fixing bogus function calls and improving readability.

As I am currently busy with studying for my upcoming exams, I do not have the time to thoroughly have playtested these improvements, though as it's on a localization level, things shouldnt be broken (hopefully).

Update Four: Des Kaisers neue Kleider!

Winds of change blow through Europe's midst — from Paris to Berlin to Budapest, people are no longer content with the status quo. Demands for representation, unification, and equality quake the foundations of upolent thrones upon which Europe's emperors sit comfortably... No matter what happens, turbulent times are ahead for those in power.

A titanic update to the localization, touching upon almost every aspect — be it modifiers, events, or Journal Entries

  • Prussian Journal Entries, events, and modifiers have been completely reworked: Now featuring deep historical context, localized names for institutions, phrases, and more. Check out Prussia's path to a unified Germany!

  • German Journal Entries, events, and modifiers have undergone a very thorough facelift, giving you deep historical context and localized names for institutions. Guide a unified Groß- or Kleindeutschland to its rightful place in the sun!

  • Austrian Journal Entries, events, and modifiers have also undergone a complete revision — featuring deep historical context and localized names. I'm a huge fan of how the reform process turned out!

  • French Journal Entries and modifiers have also been revised! Now featuring further historical context and localized names — check out the reworked Journey Through the Dark Continent, guiding you toward a French colonial empire!

  • Various events: From great persons, absolutist rule to the Erfurt crises, and much, much more now feature deeper historical narrative, guiding you through Europe's turbulent times.

  • An assortment of small fixes concerning missing events, missing JE localizations and more...

Additionally, European happenings have seen a complete localization rework, deeply expanding historical context and storytelling, including:
  • The Berlin Conference
  • German unification from both Austrian and Prussian perspectives, as well as those seeking to intervene.
  • The League of the Three Emperors
  • The Frankfurt Parliament
  • The Zweibund (Germany-Austria) and Dual Entente (France-Russia)
  • And so much more!

And for all of the above: Better explainers for mechanics, improved clarity in tooltips which now properly explain what happens and what you have to do, along with take-able actions and their potential consequences. I've tried my best to ensure proper explainations to better guide decision making!

On parity with Victorian Century, enjoy!

Update: 25 Apr @ 9:10am

I should really look into getting a set of properly working eyes...

  • Fixed formatting regarding Austrian Events and JE's. Now they properly show up in-game.

On parity with Victorian Century, enjoy!

Update: 25 Apr @ 8:02am

With a critical gaze, deep research and probably a lot of swag, I present to you something I've been working on for a couple of days.

The largest update to the localization yet, touching upon or even completely revising content for Prussia, France and Austria:
  • Austrian, French and Prussian Journal Entries have undergone huge revisions - focusing on historical accuracy and readibility.
  • Fixed tons of grammatical errors, improved readibility and reworked most sentences regarding the mentioned JE's
  • Where appropriate: Added further historical context and information, localized Institutions (Großer Generalstab, the Zweibund, etc.) and corrected inaccuracies where/if I found them.

On parity with Victorian Century, enjoy!

Update: 24 Apr @ 7:07am

  • Fixed some formatting so that the entirety of the newly translated content actually shows up.
