Final Update

Well. Here we are, now. Whether or not you saw this coming, it's here now. The final update to the map. An update to put the majority of things here to rest. I'll probably still have to moderate the comments now and then, but for now, unless anything has gone awry with the map packing, this is the final update, and here are the changes.

- The sign outside the gift shop entrance has become incredibly outdated, so I updated the sign and then replaced it with a smaller, more-condensed sign with a simplified message. It's still breakable though, for all your scene delights.

- A very minor adjustment was made to the vending machine. I'm sure it'll be fun watching some of you squirm trying to figure out what was changed.

- The dial has been made easier to activate for those of you who have not yet found it, are really bad at scavenger hunts, but know how to use the console. Careful you don't accidentally break the dial instead, though.

- Whether or not you noticed it was broken, the mirror in the attic bedroom has been repaired so it no longer glitches. Probably.

- Added an extra sound to the elevator buttons so you don't go crazy mashing the buttons thinking it didn't register your inputs.

- Fixed a minor problem with the three dials used to lock the portal room's door.

- Repaired, or rather, replaced the antigravity mechanic for when the portal is activated. (Yes, there's actually been an antigravity mechanic built into it this whole time, but Gmod specifics prevented it from functioning.) One of the consoles in the lab now bears a lever that can be deactivated to make the gravity go all wibbly while the portal is active. Only affects players and not props or NPCs.

~ As a side note of the above change, it is now morely possible to leap into the universe portal and climb to the top of the shack without use of external tools or noclipping. However, the former is easier than the latter to do.

- Added an extra aesthetic effect outside the shack for when the portal is activated. I meant to do this a long while back, but some things are just buried.

- Whether or not you noticed it, I fixed the incorrect rotation centers of the levers in the underground lab.

- And finally, the majority of the description has been sequestered in its own discussion post now, which can be found here.

And that is it for the Final Update. Unless some vital piece of content that was present previously has somehow gone missing and needs to be packed in again, that is the last update this map will be getting. If you still have remaining textures or models missing after that, you require Counter-Strike: Source to amend those issues. If you're a newcomer to this map, welcome. If you're a returning visitor who has moved on from past events or else did not pay mind to said events, welcome back. We hope you enjoy your stay.

And, if you want to make it known that you actually read this changenote, place down a comment that says Paper Jam Dipper was here!

Update: 27 Jun, 2016 @ 5:52am

- Added another in-game notification to remind you all that the Description and the Discussion posts on the workshop post are a VERY valuable source of information.

Does anyone actually read these update notes? If you're reading this right now, acknowledge it by posting a comment that says "Two plus two equals ten. IN BASE FOUR, I'M FINE!"

Update: 15 Jun, 2016 @ 4:16pm

Added extra in-game notifications regarding the vending machine's locked state, for those of you who are terrible at reading instructions on the workshop post.

And don't ask me where the switch is. You have the basic ability to search for things, don't you? And if not, there are already several hints present in the Discussion posts. soleavemealone

POST-ELEVATOR VOID SURVIVOR UPDATE

So, here we are again. The map is back. You may have thought it was gone for good, and are now asking me why it's back. Or else, you were one of the people who rejoiced when it was removed, and now want to know why it is back because of that. Either way, here's the deal.

While I can't drop my grudge against VenturianTale, I am willing to drop any of my vehement methods of repelling them, turning to the honor system for management of this map. There's a new signpost in front of the gift shop entrance to make sure that Venturian sees my message if they decide to come back, but I'll just sum it up right here and now.

I'm allowing everyone, and by extension them, to return to the map. I will no longer pull any volatile moves to stop their spread across maps on the workshop. I'll let everyone come back. But there's one stipulation, one that I am not enforcing at all, towards VenturianTale. They should at least watch more episodes of Gravity Falls before continuing to use the map, if they do decide to do so at all. If they're still going to use it, they should at least know more about it first. If they still don't learn up on it and continue using the map that way, I won't get out of my seat. I'll let them do what they're doing. I'll give a disapproving glare at most, but I won't do anything else.

Also, if you're not VenturianTale, you can just easily remove the new signpost by smashing it with a weapon or punting it aside with the gravity gun. All right? We understand each other now? Let's all lay down our weapons and call a truce for now. If you're willing to forgive and forget, then so am I. Don't bring it back up, and if you feel like I've restricted your word by wiping all the comments from during the incident, I've archived them all here;

Comments from the Downfall Period [i1288.photobucket.com]
There are 30 pages worth of feuding beyond this link, beware.

Also, the MVPs of this period were dorito dork, the head of the VenturianTale Steam Group, also known as Peridot, and Sansipher, a generally swell guy.

...also, with that spiel over, there's also a bit of normal changelog in here as well.

- Added an additional lock to the Vending Machine door; you must find a dial somewhere in the Mystery Shack to unlock it and to access Ford's basement areas. It's also specifically designed so that you can't noclip in unless the vending machine is unlocked first, unless you're smart and/or have a lot of time on your hands.

- Recompiled the map in HDR; lookit that greater lighting.

- Discontinued maintenance service; I will no longer update this map.

Alright? Got all that? Good. I'll see you in a week or two with a new map.

Update: 19 Apr, 2016 @ 11:37am

~ A CONTENT FIX UPDATE; NO, YOU STILL HAVE TO BUY COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE IF YOU HAVEN'T ~

- Slotted in a few more missing materials.

- Fixed a few things that aren't the portal lever crash issue~

- Prioritized the fact that I don't want you killing the live museum exhibit displays, because what did they ever do to you?

Update: 28 Feb, 2016 @ 4:20am

- Potentially fixed Portal Shutdown Lever crashing issue. Correct me if I'm wrong.

- Added a doorframe to the cellar bathroom door. Whoops, forgot that one before.

Update: 22 Feb, 2016 @ 3:23am

POST-WEIRDMAGEDDON / FINALE UPDATE

- The map's environment lighting has now been adjusted to match the skybox

- Nearly all of the lights in the house have been improved upon

- Frames were added to the doors of Stan's office, the Parlor, and Ford's bathroom (They didn't look quite right without them)

- The roof access ladder in the gift shop has been fixed

- The elevator down to the underground lab has been switched from manual control to automatic control; it's astonishing how many people had trouble with figuring out the manual controls
~ Each visual button in the elevator corresponds to a different floor

- The door leading into the portal room can now be sealed by turning the three dials on the wall consoles

- In-game instructions on how to activate the portal have been added

- The portal lever can still crash your game, but if it doesn't, if you manage to leap into the portal it will take you somewhere.

- You can now find all 21 end pages from every episode of Season 2 in the map; as for what to do with them, I'll let you figure that out
~ You may need the Climb SWEP to access two of the pages if you do not possess any grappling hooks or do not wish to noclip

MY TIME HAS COME TO BURN. I INVOKE THE ANCIENT POWER THAT I MAY RETURN.
