Major and exciting update!

I've learned how to lock buildings at different angles & heights into the grid. The town is now all locked in, not floating anymore. This has taken my Sim Speed from 60% inside town houses all the way to a solid 100%. And it means I can add windows, doors, and other furniture. It's a HUGE leap in being able to build a realistic town outside the fort walls.

I hope you enjoy it.

This update swaps out almost all of my resource-draining barrels, chests, tables & beds for Ratatosk's -AWESOME- new decoration-only mods. It's made a huge savings in overhead, and lets me get back to 100% Sim Speed in a lot of places where the build was lagging & getting bogged down. Plus now I don't have to worry so much between detail & performance. I can have both! I love this mod.

Another round, both of adding useful & fun detail in the town, and optimizing speed by removing unnecessary/redundant small-block items.

The trick is always finding that balance between putting in enough detail to make the world come to life, but not so much that it lags the heck out of it.

Update: 21 May, 2016 @ 10:37am

These edits & updates have just been streamlining. Over the past couple of days I've managed to remove a couple hundred individual small-blocks without really changing the look or feel of the environment. I've also pulled out a couple freestanding large-block pieces, the kind that sometimes make the code bog down.

Things should be just a little bit springier, and the world should do a better job of staying at 100% Sim Speed -- and of bouncing back to 100% if it's gotten bogged down inside a house.
