It doesn't seem to have any issues for me. I diffed the XML files from the mods with the ones in the shipping game and the changes all look legit - they change fields that currently exist, no additions/deletions. When I tried running it I can indeed observe the higher tech costs in game. So, I don't believe this mod is broken, @vita.

There were some major updates for the game since the initial release of the files over five years ago. Like i wrote before, i do not have the time to verify the changes. So nothing i can help you with at the moment, sorry

To be honest, I am testing right now. Techs in library still cost the same.

Cheers, I noticed that the cost of techs were still rather large even if I had it at it's most expensive.

As far as i can remember, we just doubled (maybe even quadrupled) the costs for all technologies back then. Thanks to Valve the original description of the mod is gone... At the moment i do not have the time to verify the changes, just compare the two files with the original ones using an text editor to see the ratio of the changes :)

What does this mod actually do? What does it edit in unit_rules.xml? What does it edit in rules.xml?

You could compare the vanilla files and the files inside of the mod with a text editor like n++, emacs etc. and increase all the changed values (several hundreds of them so it will take some time) to the whatever x you want :) Meensai and i aren't playing RoN at all at the moment, so not working on the mod as well.

Would it be possible for there to be multiple lengthening options? 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. For those that want an epic length war.

Sorry, it would consume a lot of time (that i don't have atm) to change every single related value in the same (if i rememebr right) gamefile. Maybe someday in the future, but i can't promise that :)

Best fact: We didn't touch any other values of the techs or units even and especially not without mentioning, as many mods sadly do ;P
