Great map. However, when the Kobold blows up the hole , the mobs tend to get stuck if a gas trap is present. My suggestion would be to add a surface up there and let mobs walk down instead of spawning them directly inside the hole. Otherwise it's a great map.

I absolutely love this map, it's exactly the kind of map I'd like to see as the next addition to the official content: Perfectly manageable size for single play, a clever layout that forces you to build clever, no pointlessly long lanes, no additional gimmicky mechanics - just you, the crystal , the gates and hundreds of enemies. Loved the little surprise in the middle as well; I tried it out in Hard first and even though my crystal was never in any real danger, I was genuinely thrilled due to the excellent pacing of the waves.

I really hope Trendy will consider this for inclusion in Ranked.

Pickle it was a good map really good rate up but i found something u could try to fix o through the sewer tunnel furtherest left from were u spawn then go in it and the door furtherest left when the jumpin warrionrs jump they get stuck but u can still kill them and they will fall down but htye always get stuck for me but besides that really good map :)

@mr.nuke: Sorry if the cinematic event wasn't surprising enough, haha :)

@Macc: So glad no mobs got stuck or lost :) ... I didn't use BSP at all for geometry, that's all made out of static meshes imported from Maya. I'll look into making it look more flowing though, cheers for the advice - appreciated, bro!

Your map is working quite well. I set up deadly strike towers on my apprentice and all the waves went smoothly without any monsters getting stuck or me having to hunt down any strays. I don't know how it will function for a real play through, but it works for me!

If you have some time before the map is due try to add some greater variation to the bsp in your level. It look at things like the bridge and where walls connection and where the floor goes downward and I just see unrealistically sharp edges, which is what bsp creates. If you can, try to put a mesh like a wooden plank along these to smooth this out.

Made a small update which will hopefully fix the mobs getting stuck on the door noted by Macc (thanks!) ...Haven't got chance to test it past the first couple of waves though so please let me know if it's still broken! :)

TLDR; You could decrease the total amount of defense units to make it so players cannot sit comfortably behind their defenses. I personally would prefer this style of play because it makes me do stuff and keeps me from getting bored.

I can't speak for the difficulty since my character is a lv 100 with ridiculous gear thanks to the godly gear mod and excessive exp encounter mod. Players that high of a level break the game absolutely and if they have that gear they are somehow even more broken. Effectively I can solo any map on Nightmare Mode.

I think if you played around with limiting the total amouint of defense units you could find the right balance where players can't just sit around behind their defenses for every wave and are forced to do something to survive against the sheer amount of enemies regardless how much damage they can do etc...

Thanks guys! Unfortunately due to a busy final year degree programme and problems in personal life I'm not going to have time to implement any more dynamic spawns, but I agree that more would definitely improve it :) The most tedious part about the current one was all of the hiding and unhiding of the actors that I had to put into kismet so that the camera would be able to see through the ceilings! :p

The amount of times that I have tried to fix the mobs getting stuck on doors is ridiculous xD ... thanks for letting me know which door, hugely appreciated and I'll try to fix it soon!

May I ask what you guys thought of the difficulty? I've had a hard time finding other people to playtest it with me and so I've just had to gauge the difficulty with one player on medium.

Oh and major props for having a cinematic event when the top of the level blew up by the crystal. It was a nice mix up for defense.

same here we featured your map today on custom map fridays

we enjoyed it very much

we wish that more of the tunnels opened up to maybe another area like the one you had

perhaps as the wave progress open up to another side

so you have left, right , front, rear , top and below and it slowly opens up as it gets harder

A pretty darn decent map considering how ambitious you were with BSP. Apparently you and I have similar levels in regards to our useage of bsp...

I noticed monsters got stuck on this door in quite a few waves.

Just played it on the custom map fridays, it looks very nice.

I was kinda hoping for more areas to open up throughout the waves.

Although, maybe I'm just hoping to see it everywhere now.
