you should make an update that that lets you take the gem and the jewelry. Ex: make a gold diamond ring into a diamond and a gold ring, like you poped the gem out.

I like this mod because of my tendency to run pick up sparkly things, that don't necessarily belong to me. . . Now I can keep the sparkly and the guards can't 'legally' confiscate it. lol

I love all of the diamond smithing mods, and this adds a perfect solution for getting those hard-to-find gems.

Armor is now up. Once again it is too much for one mod so there is both a heavy and light version. enjoy and don't forget to rate up and favorite if you like what you see, it dosen't pay the bills but it warms my heart!!!

The ability to scavenge gems from items is a really nice touch and a pretty balanced solution for the gem heavy Diamond Smithing weapon collection. Good job.

@bitl, yes If you enchant something yourself. even if you rename it the game still sees it as just a regular piece of jewelry. so be careful you don't breakdown something you didn't want to by accident.

It works perfectly! I broke found amulet and now I finally have a gem to finish a quest :-)

Just one note: smith menu also shows that I can break my enchanted rings and amulets.
I did not try though, to save my rings, but the corresponding menu items were bright white.

how to open a mod in skyrim step one: data files step 2:tick is for enabled and no tick is for off step three:click on the box

@shadowdragon2003000 Launch skyrim from steam, before you hit play on the launcher go into Data Files. this is a list of all your .esp files, you can turn mods on and off there. note if you turn a mod off and try to load a save that was using that mod you will get an error message to that effect. in the case of this mod the only thing added is some crafting recipes so turning it off only effects your ability to break down the items but your inventory will remain unaffected.

I just looked into it. it involves hacking into the gui and messing with stuff. I have to assume that could lead to serious compatability issues, not sure its worth it.
