Resource Trees

Yeah, it takes a while to plant, but these are generally non-renewable resources without luck in trading, and as your skill level grows, it takes less time and you get more resources per harvest. As your colony population grows, you'll be able to have multiple colonists growing, in which case it gets easy to have thousands of steel coming in per harvest, in addition to what ever other mineable resources you need.

it take long while to plant which my colony keep busy dealing with other stuff to the point few early planted tree were ripped and I was expecting one can harvest instead of chopping it down like fruits tree tho I haven't try grow beer tree soo don't know if that one work like fruit tree

I'm not sure what your complaint is. You aren't limited to just 1 tree, you're supposed to use this for orchards. You plant a good number of trees, harvest for a nice batch of which ever resource you needed, then plant more of whichever tree gives you the resources you need.
Anny 20 Jun @ 1:31pm
This almost good til you harvest and found out it only yield 25 and tree also need to be replant

I’m sorely using this mod for the beers. Beers from this mod is supporting all my colonists’ beer need!

What's the skill level of your farmer? Steel trees require a skill level of 5 to plant. If your farmer is 4 or lower, they won't be able to plant the trees. If they're at least 5, or higher, then check and see if they have access to the area, and if they have other skills at a higher priority, causing them to ignore the tree growing in favor of other tasks.

Of all things in this mod, the beer tree is the most realistic one

There was someone in the comments section a while back who mentioned that there is actually a wine made from fermented tree sap, Palm Wine. The sap from the tree used ferments quickly after collecting it, and can be made into a drinkable alcoholic beverage within hours of harvesting.

"I am asking why there is beer"

Given Maple Syrup is a thing(We take the 'blood' of a tree and eat it), someone making that blood into something else makes a kind of sense.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 1 Sep, 2024 @ 10:25am
I'm not going wild and crazy to add every resource with this. It's just the resources you would normally mine for, and the beer tree as a joke.
Panco 1 Sep, 2024 @ 10:23am
add psychite, chemfuel, go juice, and other stuff!!! i want to have fuel but also get high!!!
{GFG} Kage  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 5:34am
Shame on you for asking.

I am asking why there is beer
Karkino 11 Jun, 2024 @ 9:41pm
@拳鸡高手泰深 remember that in the og lore of rimworld there are rocket fuel trees... so its valid to think these are just modified to generate this resources for glitterworlds or something like that
bourassd 3 May, 2024 @ 6:13am
Thanks for keeping it maintained! I personally prefer a passive income of resources over needing to pick up and haul drills to new locations every few hours.
Eegxeta 14 Apr, 2024 @ 3:58pm
Finally a mod to replace that metal corn mod I've been using since version 1.0 and hasn't been updated since. I've always liked that mod even though there is far better ways to get the resources I've never stopped using it and now I have a better one.
Elv原则 11 Apr, 2024 @ 9:43pm
If you want backstory, than just think of it as one of archotecch product. I
拳鸡高手泰深 2 Apr, 2024 @ 6:25am
Well, I'm thinking too much. I thought the principle and background story of the component tree could be related to the mechnoid, mechanite or the new bioferrite in 1.5. There are mechnoid trees in Alpha Biomes mod though, which are seemed to be mechanical organisms.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 2 Apr, 2024 @ 3:35am
There isn't a backstory for any of these, to be honest. This was originally just a means for me to obtain resources that couldn't be obtained late game once you had mined out all the resources on the map. Now though, the ground-penetrating and long-range scanners can always find more, and I use those methods. I keep the mod maintained only because people still want and use it.
拳鸡高手泰深 2 Apr, 2024 @ 1:41am
Component trees are impressive, nothing is too strange in Rimworld anyway, but could you please expain how does they work and introduce their backgroud story? I'm really curious.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 2 Apr, 2024 @ 12:56am
I've tested and confirmed this mod works in 1.5, and I've updated the mod.
Sera 6 Jan, 2024 @ 1:04pm
@onkel Benz oh ya tell me what plant grows go-juice? "Oh the" no no not the items that can be made into go-juice the plant that grows go-juice. Huge difference.
Onkel Benz 5 Jan, 2024 @ 12:39pm
Drug trees really? All the drugs already ARE plants you monkeys.
*insert name here* 29 Dec, 2023 @ 11:37am
Subscribed for beer tree
Sera 22 Dec, 2023 @ 11:29am
Fair enough. I already do have three mods designed for helping mass production. I can't work on it myself either. Already trying to do 6 different things. One being trying to make a drug that is go-juice but for psycasting.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 22 Dec, 2023 @ 7:29am
Theoretically, sure. I don't have plans to add drug trees, but it wouldn't be hard with some very basic modding skills.
Sera 21 Dec, 2023 @ 11:46pm
Beer? Does that mean other drugs could be added? I know I need mass amounts of go-juice, coffee, and wake-up.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 4 Dec, 2023 @ 12:46am
Same place as the regular trees. There's no special research required. Once you have researched how to plant trees, the new trees will show up as an option in the growing zones.
Cibo 3 Dec, 2023 @ 12:32am
i must know because redneckistan must grow its beer tree's! bahahaha
Cibo 3 Dec, 2023 @ 12:31am
where do i research these tree's/how do i plant them?
{GFG} Kage  [author] 29 Aug, 2023 @ 4:56pm
Depends on the tree. Steel is low at 5, Uranium is higher at 10, Silver is way up there at 15, but mostly it's between 5 and 10.
HipnoSapo 28 Aug, 2023 @ 6:09am
Minimun plant skill required?
Lord Wahu 22 Aug, 2023 @ 3:02pm
In the Big Rock Candy Mountain, There's a land that's fair and bright. Where the Handouts grow on Bushes, and you sleep out every night
Where the Boxcars all are empty, and the sun shines every day
On the Birds and the Bees, and Cigarette Trees
The Lemonade springs where the blue bird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountain

For some reason this reminds me of that. Don't know why
Neosuduno 28 Jun, 2023 @ 8:08pm
I would rather ask why more mods do not add beer options.
Ren 29 Apr, 2023 @ 9:30pm
@crazycat378 Yes, with Tweaks Galore... or maybe it was [FSF] Tweaks
jump101wa 13 Apr, 2023 @ 12:39pm
shit
{GFG} Kage  [author] 12 Apr, 2023 @ 8:57pm
Nope, it inherits all the default properties of trees, including not being able to build it under a roof.
jump101wa 12 Apr, 2023 @ 8:42pm
Can this grow with a roof above it?
no143no 11 Apr, 2023 @ 1:03pm
yes
Armoured Jester 26 Mar, 2023 @ 2:37pm
This should be interesting
Feytala 14 Dec, 2022 @ 12:08pm
Why is there beer ? ;)
Playzr 🐵 31 Oct, 2022 @ 5:39am
Money does grow on trees. Did I already say that? Somebody must've said that already.
Dewa 25 Oct, 2022 @ 6:36pm
I see, thanks :D:
{GFG} Kage  [author] 25 Oct, 2022 @ 3:20pm
Only by editing the mod files. It's not hard, just change the tags for harvestYield and growDays. With that said, if any changes are made to the mod later, it will revert changes you make that way.
Dewa 25 Oct, 2022 @ 6:12am
Any way to change the trees' grow time and harvest amount?
Veyn Wingsong 7 Oct, 2022 @ 2:59pm
Thank you so much! This is one of my necessary mods.
{GFG} Kage  [author] 7 Oct, 2022 @ 12:36pm
Ok, updated for 1.4.
